We highly recommend THIS place. Me,my daughters and grandson had such a wonderful time,we are definitely going back again. I hope next time they have both pools open.We will definitely come again & stay longer.. not far from grocery shopping,gas stations & cute fruit market stands.

Good place for us during San Diego Comicon

We stayed in a cabin during our weekend at comicon. It was a great place for us to crash. We didn't spend a ton of time in the campground, but it seemed generally clean. It was hard to find our specific cabin, but it was clean and looked very new. Sheets weren't super comfy, but you're staying at a campground, so the height of Luxury shouldn't be expected. We personally didn't get great cell service because it's in the hills, but you had to pay for the wifi, which seemed obnoxious. We also found ants in one of the bedrooms and bathroom on our second/last day. We obviously didn't have food there, so idk what the deal was with that. The staff were all friendly and helpful though. All in all, though, it's pretty decently located if you'd like to go to San Diego without paying San Diego hotel prices. If I ever go to comicon again, I'd consider another stay at Pio Pico.

Cabana was good, plenty kitchen utensils and a grill outside. The pool was nice, hiking was ok. Check in was not the best, I arrived at 1530 and said hello checking in and one of the 3 ladies working there immediately say “is too early, if I check you in now it’ll be $30 extra”. No hospitality whatsoever. One other lady then saved the day by talking nicely and went over the requirements and also mentioned the cabana was not ready yet. I patiently waited until 1600,

Cute place needed few touch ups. Maye list accommodation different (said sleeps 5 but should have put not all adults) store and restaurant hours should be later during summer time would be better(way to early) can't check in til 4 by then everything almost shut dwn for day. Our cabin was great!

Our cabin was better than expected. We arrived very late and they were very helpful with a lat check in. Parking was right next to our cabin. Beds were very comfortable and cabin was very clean. We will definitely be back. We didn't have time to use any of the pools, club house stuff and didn't need the laundry facilities, so not sure about those.

family fun weekend

overall the stay was great my kids really had a fantastic time especially in the pool. really the only bad thing was the sofa bed in my cabin it was terrible i could feel the bars of the bed against my back all night i did not get a good nights sleep and also the cabin was also a bit on the small side. i would stay again

Family vacation

The employees were amazing! They were helpful and informative about the surrounding area. I enjoyed the quiet location. Unfortunately there were a few issues that were a huge impact for myself and my family. This was a family trip for me and my children. And had one child leaving on deployment and another leaving for boot camp. This was supposed to be a relaxing fun filled family time. There were issues with the stove which was corrected. We rented 2 movies that we couldn’t watch because the DVD player did not work and they did not have any others available. The basketball court needs some TLC. I did enjoy the quiet and no cell phone service. That allowed me and my children to focus on the short time we had together. We didn’t get those unwanted text or calls. Other than than those issues we still had fun. I would go back and recommend this as a place to stay. Just hope they correct those little issues.

Cozy Cabin

We stayed in the pet free cabin with one I think queen bed and bink bed. The cabin was super clean, stocked and cozy. We loved the resort! Only thing, wifi is not optimal and although we were "unplugged" for the most part, now days, you fo need wifi, for directions, etc. We highly reccomend!
