"While this stay lacks in the polished stays of a fancy resort it makes up ten-fold in charm and personality. This was the coziest most wonderful stay we've had on our trip yet and we'll definitely be back. Located a mere 4 minute walk from the train station and a 1 minute from the beach this was the low key break we needed. The stay was clean with great amenities. "The location is great and very convenient, but unfortunately that’s the only positive. The host never responded to any messages, making communication extremely difficult. The property photos — many items shown are old, broken, or completely unusable. There was no outdoor lighting, and the glasses were dusty and poorly maintained. "We had a wonderful stay at Yukairou Kikuya last week! The property is gorgeous and the private onsen in our room was wonderful and much appreciated after a long stay in Japan with much walking! We really enjoyed the town of Izu - Shizouka with its quaint feel, the lovely temple, bamboo forest and the beautiful river running through the town. It was such a lovely break from all the large city stays we had and my husband and I have already discussed returning without our tenn children as it is a very romantic property and is more suitable to adults. The traditional Japanese dinner and Western breakfast were all wonderful and we enjoyed the other amenities as well. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a lovely onsen stay during the visit to Japan!"
