Spotless, courteous, and great Japanese breakfast.

Very nice hotel. I feel my hotel experiences have gone up a notch here. Reception was excellent, our luggage was taken to our room, we were shown some of the hotel facilities, lounge area with free coffee, orange juice and other non alcoholic drinks, plenty easy chairs and tables. Room very large, private bathroom but out in the rooms hallway rather than directly off the bedroom. Sauna and onsen freely available. This very smart hotel was excellent.

The Hotel Route Inn in Saijo was a convenient place to stay and was a resonable price. We had a rental car which made it easy to find and the parking was free. The beds were hard but the rest of the hotel was nice. My daughter and I went into the Japanese bath, which was very relaxing. They provided Pyjamas and slippers as well as basic toiletries. There was a good variety at breakfast which was buffet style and very filling. The staff were very helpful but I don't think anyone spoke much English. The hotel is close to the Asahi Beer Factory, which offers free tours! Saijo is a short drive to Imabari where we started the Shimanami Kaido Bicycle ride.

Upon arrival the staff kindly informed us of our forwarded luggage from the previous hotel. Which was already placed in our room. Upon entry we noticed 1 piece of luggage was missing. I want to thank the staff of Dogo Yaya for their hard work in getting the luggage to our hotel within 24 hours of arrival. Service was amazing. The onsen facilities around the hotel were good and the hotel provided the necessary clothes and towels. The breakfast buffet had a large variety of foods which we enjoyed a lot. I highly recommend the hotel if you're staying in Matsuyama. Next time I will consider booking a night extra, 1 day was too short.
