The staff are incredibly kind, the rooms are absolutely clean, the beds/pillows are always crisp and comfortable. Their breakfast choices are delicious and there's fresh coffee all day... 😀 ...and if you have to travel with a dog, they welcome pets too. 😊」

「The room was beautiful and comfortable. The staff was so so friendly and what an amazingly calm atmosphere. Great breakfast and the pool was great. Unfortunately they are remodeling the hot tub area and I wish I would have known that. However seeing the construction outside and inside ill be excited to see what's coming.」

「We were not happy at all with the room. The bed was so high we could not get on it. Could not relax in any way because it was either the bed or 2 wooden chairs. Carpeting was not clean. This was not very accommodating at all for 2 people in their 80's.」

「Coming to Shipshewanna, we booked a room at Essenhaus Inn because our usual hotel was totally booked. I cannot begin to say how much we enjoyed our stay in the atrium! From the friendliness to the cleanliness...from the free brunch to the free "afternoon" cookies...we were really impressed. Next trip to Shipshewanna will find us staying at the Essenhaus Inn again!」

「Overall, we had a good stay. Check—in was unique. The rooms were spacious with very good furnishings. The bathroom floor seemed less than 5 star. Except for some nice area rugs in the two main rooms the floor was a finished concrete. On the upper level, and with only 11 rooms, there was minimal noise! An entrance other than the truck stop “store” would have been a better option, such as using the stairs on the north end with key access. The shower was great, however each of us slipped on its...

「While the room and bathroom were clean enough, the room itself smelled of cigarette smoke, though the bed linens did not smell of smoke. The sheets and pillowcases were crumpled, as though they had been washed and dried in overloaded machines. The property itself was surrounded by overgrown trees and shrubs, and adjacent to a failing outlet mall.」

「Nothing for breakfast except coffee. Door on room did not fit well, allowing visible cracks that showed hallway. Sure seems like someone is living there as the food odors were very strong (and not good) at the same time each night. Check-in took too long, and check-out was even longer. People hanging around lobby during check-out made it very strange and the clerk said nothing so I assume they were related. I will NOT stay at this hotel again.」
