The breakfast options were phenomenal. The pool was a lovely size and mostly empty with comfortable lounge couches set around. The room was one of the cleanest I have been in, in a very long time. The beds were softer than most hotel beds, which I appreciate since I like a plush mattress. It was nice to not wake up sore! The shower was wonderful as well. We enjoyed one night of staying in and got drinks and appetizers/dinner at the bar. The drinks were some of the better I have had and the bartender was quite skilled. We always stay at Hilton properties, but this was my first time at a Tru and I was impressed!

Excellent stay! The staff were very friendly and everything was nice and clean. We were able to walk to the Toyota Center for a concert, so it was exactly what we needed!

This was an excellent hotel, the only negative is that it’s in downtown Houston. It didn’t feel safe at all but from our room we could see the homeless sleeping on the sidewalk.

Nice place to stay. It’s walking distance from Toyota Center and Daikin Park. The pillows are nice. The service is great . The bad part is parking. Trying to a parking place without paying or getting your car towed is a challenge.

The only thing I did not like about the room was a lack of blinds on the window. Couldn’t make it darker in there. I’m a vampire.

Hotel was clean and new. Check in was easy. Our room was nice. Had to ask for more towels, body wash in the shower and a remote for the TV. Also had a problem with the automatic shades. They wouldn’t close because it was stuck on the window frame. Maintenance came and repaired it. It would have been nice to have had an additional trashcan, tissues and information about the area restaurants and sights to see.

We were completely disappointed with our stay. The property felt unsafe—people sleeping in their cars out front, road construction everywhere, and loitering near the entrance. We weren’t greeted, and the valet had to direct us to check-in. Although we prepaid through Expedia, the front desk clerk charged us again and refused to honor our confirmation. The room itself was not clean—beds looked slept in, pillows were flat, and walls were paper-thin. We could hear conversations, toilets flushing, and doors slamming all night. Breakfast was another letdown. We were told it was available until 10:30 a.m. on weekends, but when we went at 9:30, there was nothing left—no food, no coffee, not even waffle mix. Staff told us there was simply “nothing to eat.” We expected better from a Hilton-affiliated property. This was not worth the price or the stress. Never again.

It’s brand new, very nice, very clean, nice bar. A bit isolated however, close to congress center but on the other side of a huge parking garage. Would have loved a coffee machine in the room, but at least there is coffee right in front of the elevators at lobby level!
