I had a good experience at the Platinum Inn in Katy. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Check-in was quick and easy, and the location is convenient with plenty of places nearby. Itโ€™s a good option if youโ€™re looking for somewhere affordable and comfortable to stay. There are a few small things that could be improved, but overall I was satisfied with my stay and would stay here again.

Overall, the stay was generally okay, but there were two notable issues. First, the floor had some grime, which is somewhat typical for a motel room but still noticeable. Second, the plumbing seems inactive for a while because when first turning on the shower or faucet, or after flushing the toilet, the water initially runs yellow-brown. Fortunately, it clears up and runs clean in less than a minute.

The hotel is probably about 6 feet from a major interstate, I-10 so good luck getting a halfway decent nights sleep. Although not necessarily the hotel owner/staffโ€™s fault the hotel might be perfect for an hourly rental, if you read between the lines. During my stay there were numerous guests fighting most of the night and either one or multiple car alarms that went off at least a dozen times. The inconsiderate owner(s) of the vehicle(s) let it cycle through for 20+ minutes each time, obviously ignoring their responsibility to address the alarm. The staff should be more attentive to the excessive noise all hours of the night and remove unruly pests, I meant guests. As far as an 8/10 rating, this is absolutely fake, itโ€™s more like a 3/10.

When we first went into the lobby I could barely hear the person checking us in because one of the machines in the lobby was so loud. When we went up to our room we found that the door was wide open. And all the rooms have exterior doors. This was concerning. When we verified that there was nothing or no one in our room we realized that the room smelled like a damp locker room. Breakfast options included a waffle, cereal, or snack cakes. Thatโ€™s it. So we only ate there once. After that we were happy to pay for better options. The condition of the room was below average. This was definitely a budget motel. Iโ€™d pass next time.
