Hollywood North Beach Park is a leafy treasure at the North End of Broadwalk. It includes a grassy area woven with meandering walking paths at the back of a long and narrow stretch of sand. Admire the vistas of the blue-green hues making up the ocean water along the park’s eastern side.
Bring supplies for an al fresco lunch with your family on the grass or on the sand. Find designated picnic tables with grills sheltered beneath the trees. Go for a refreshing swim in the water and bring your own mask and snorkel to check out the fish. With luck, you may spot sea turtles, who have been known to make their nests in the sand here.
Stroll along the walkways between the swaying palm trees of this 56-acre (23-hectare) park overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Help kids collect some of the many shells left on the sandy stretch by the tide.
Climb up the wooden steps to get to the summit of the Watch Tower at Hollywood North Beach Park. It lies at the rear of the strand’s southern section and provides picturesque views of the coastline. Purchase food and drink from the Turtle Café just behind the beach and sit on its terrace to enjoy ocean views.
Lifeguards usually patrol the park. Restroom facilities are available. There is a per-vehicle fee if you arrive by car or RV. The site is open daily from morning until early evening.
Hollywood North Beach Park is on a barrier island on the eastern side of Hollywood, between Fort Lauderdale and Miami. From the former, drive south for 9 miles (14 kilometers) to get here in about 20 minutes. Leave your car in the metered parking lot. You can also take a bus to one of the park’s stops.
