"*** Avoid this hotel *** No mention of the extensive building works ebing carried out. Building work started at 7.10am inside the hotel waking us all up Workmen peerig into the room when my 11 year old is getting changed from the shower when they are on a lift on the outside of the building (we were on the 4th floor) When complaining to the staff at the hotel they said we would recieve a full refund - now they are ignoring us and wont return emails Asked for their policy of work hours for the building works - was told verbally not before 9am for inside work. Manager at the hotel will not put this in writing Have asked for complaints proceedure from the same manager - emails now ignored Asked for the policy on informing guests that workmen maybe accessing higher floors from the outside of the building - again ermails ignored Would I stay here again? No. Would I book another Village Hotel? No. I have emailed and emailed (seems to be the only option as no telephone number for customer services) and again emails have been ignored. I travel on business a lot and stay in lots of different hotels and this has to be by far the worst hotel i have stayed in for a long time. Run by a manager named Daniela who will run for the hills if she gets asked any questions that are not on the script. AVOID!! "

"Reception Staff were great, very pleasant, restaurant staff not so great, we waiting 15 mins to be seated for breakfast, breakfast was awful, Bacon not cooked, no eggs, Ants crawling on the bar where the pastries, cereals and juices were. The carpets on the corridors were absolutely filthy they were clearly having renovations carried out at the hotel which we were unaware off at the time of booking. We booked a superior room has we required a fridge only to find no fridge, no bottled water, no toiletries ( all had clearly been watered down). The mattress was hard and during the night doors were been slammed so not a great night. Would not recommend and will not be going back."

"Great budget hotel with ample parking and comfortable, clean facilities. Located next to a pub serving food including breakfast and a short walk from Wether spoons and Aldi/Asda. Definitely would recommend 5*"

"Relaxing stopoff on the way to the SW convenient for the motorway Delicious food served by friendly staff. Restart the journey recharged both body and car!!"

"Clean and tidy, hotel rooms and pool area a little bit dated, Wouldn’t say it Was quite 4 * but certainly a pleasant stay and buffet breakfast for £14 was really nice reasonable amount of options and porridge we pre ordered came full to the brim and was delicious. Quite old fashioned almost like being in a time warp, but all in all a nice pleasant stay, pool was nice and quiet when we went and food was decent, bar area not too bad, good value for money, with being so close to the airport, which you can actually walk to from the hotel as well, so nice bonus."

"Clean room, good facilities such as smart tv, iron & board, hairdryer, tea & coffee making facilities etc. Nice shower. Lovely restaurant which also does a good breakfast. Friendly staff everywhere. Easy & ample safe parking accessed via a long driveway."

"The staff were attentive and helpful, even helping us with our luggage when we checked in past midnight. Thank you! However, the property is need of some TLC and maintenance. Room sizing varies greatly even in the same category of room (a group of us stayed with 3 separate bookings so we know), the phones never worked even to speak to reception (even when we called from our mobiles no one ever answered over 2 days) and the hotel is like a warren with rooms on the same floor spread out across various corridors and up and down stairs making it difficult to navigate and move luggage around. Parking on site was helpful though £10 a night feels an excessive fee. When checking in an unsavoury duo walked into the hotel (after midnight) armed with alcohol and a hostile attitude - they were not staying at the hotel. Staff dealt with it well but I can’t help wondering why anyone can just walk into the hotel at anytime."
