「Hall is looking tired on the outside with visable broken and boarded up windows at the very top. Room was dated, we stayed in the Munro studio, no windows that open and looks directly onto the back entrance so needed to keep blinds down otherwise people could see straight in as this is a ground floor room. Opposite kitchen so could smell the cooking. What made this stay was the lovely staff and evening meals were great」

「Friendly check in - had already been sent online registration form so very smooth. Room clean and nicely furnished and bathroom obviously recently fitted. Hadn't intended to eat in the restaurant but having ventured into Workington and been unable to find anything inviting, we were squeezed in even though it was a busy Friday evening. Glad we did as the food was very good. Only negative of the stay was the road noise but that was the compromise for getting a lovely mountain view.」

「A very pleasant establishment just outside Keswick. Free parking and local bus stop. Room is in a really old terrace cottage full of character. The proprietor had a roaring fire going and she offered some homemade cafe to have with a brew. Breakfast was great - the eggs were fresh and provided by the hens in the garden. Can't wait to go back」
