「Great Hotel」

「Staff and food excellent. Booked a Superior Double room at £172, unfortunately we got a family room with a single bed and what looked like a Queen bed. Black mould on the bathroom ceiling and a light hanging out, bare wires above the bedroom mirror, heating was not on and we came back to a cold room, had to get the staff to sort the heating out, and although there is tea and coffee in the room with a kettle, there was no milk provided and so we could not make a cuppa in the morning.」

「Look, don't get me wrong, it's not terrible by any means. It's just that for a hotel that's trying to play at this level, it struggles with some of the basics. If you're having a short stay there's no housekeeping by default, (which they don't tell you when you arrive) but there's only a small (non-heated) towel rail, so you're going to have soggy towels on day 2. Yes, there was a (small) sign in reception saying this, but it's the kind of thing it would be good for the receptionist to...

「Facade looks great like reception and front room/restaurant. However, reception staff not engaging at all. Contacted the hotel for a request as celebrating a special day but no response nor from the reception when checked-in. Room is dated and dusty - cupboards/wardrobe has been forgotten together with the skirting boards on the hallways. Breakfast is appalling. Hash brown tasted like fried from an old oil with varied flavours. Food was not topped up. Enquired for a top up for a croissant but...
