"Our stay at Hotel Teanehi was excellent! The hotel pickup and drop off was great and the whole property was well taken care of. If you do not prefer to walk without sidewalks, prepare to take a ride into town, which is a slower process than a typical taxi elsewhere. We walked everywhere (20-30 minutes to swim or eat) and had no issues. We specifically chose this hotel for AC in the room, breakfast, and general comfort. All three of those were just as expected and we would definitely stay in the same location if we come back to the island."
"Just about everything in Rapa Nui (including much of the water) needs to be brought by boat or plane from Chile and often from farther afield. As a result, things are used and repaired until they fall apart. This shows in some areas of the hotel. If you take that into consideration, this hotel is very well run. We appreciated the suggestions and help from the staff, as well as the free transfer to and from the airport."
"Tauruu hotel is the place to stay. Wolfgang the owner/manager is attentive, accommodating and informative. He is available 24/7 to help or answer your questions through whats app. Starting with easy pickup at the airport (included) through being permitted a a later checkout and ride back to airport. Our basic room had twin beds with air conditioning. Our breakfasts were substantial and delicious and varied each day also included. Cristian who served us breakfast was friendly and conversational. Hotel was centrally located and reasonably priced especially during the high season. I highly recommend this hotel and well worth your consideration.

"We had reserved a Suzuki Jimny 4x4 well in advance, but on arrival were sent a last-minute photo of a completely different vehicle. Instead, we were given a downgraded semi-automatic car — not a 4x4 and not suitable for the island’s terrain — and told it would be provided “at the same price.” Given that 4x4 vehicles are significantly more expensive than standard cars, it felt unfair to be charged the same rate for a downgraded vehicle that did not match our confirmed booking.
The room lacked privacy, with the hot tub positioned directly outside our room. This made it difficult to relax comfortably, as there was little separation between private space and shared areas.
Staff are not knowledgable.
Communication around housekeeping was also very poor. For the first three days, I repeatedly asked when our room would be cleaned, but staff were unable to clearly explain what the housekeeping service involved or when it would take place. On one occasion, a staff member simply dropped off towels without cleaning. Using Google Translate, I explained that we would be leaving in five minutes so the room could be serviced as expected. However, we were later accused of saying we did not want housekeeping at all, which was simply untrue. This was another uncomfortable accusation and again reflected a lack of coordination and clarity between staff."
"Going to Rapa Nui my expectations were low in terms of what to expect but the bed was comfortable, hotel room was spotless, and I had hot water, a portable AC unit, fan, and power. Breakfast was free, and I was happy with it. Hanga Roa is very small and it was super easy to walk everywhere from the hotel even in flip flops.
What was incredible was the hotel staff. Genuinely some of the nicest hotel staff I’ve ever met and were patient with my broken Spanish. It was super easy to check in, and they gave me my room early and let me check out late with no problem. "
