  • I would not usually consider a garden a must-see experience, but I am really glad a local told us to visit Hamilton Gardens. The experience of wandering through a maze of hedges that open into perfectly cultivated gardens plucked complete from other countries and other eras was quite possibly the closest I will ever come to feeling like Alice in Wonderland come to life. You never know what magical sight waits around the next bend in the path.

Great place to stay!

Our stay here was brief but excellent. We were driving down after a Women's World Cup game in Auckland, and didn't have any idea when we would arrive - the owner Steve was so friendly and flexible with our arrival it put our minds at ease. The location is unmatched, such an amazing spot in the country. The facility has much to offer and we wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy it. Everything about the place was wonderful!

Friendly host, lovely room, nice communal area with do it yourself breakfast. This is located in a quiet country area and has a relaxed family atmosphere. It's a few km out of town but not too far to drive in for dinner and back

Moromatua Country

It was rural but pleasant. You felt like you were part of the family with their animals and dogs all very friendly and right there with you. Rolling hills all round and very quiet. If you want to stay a little in the country and relax, perfect

Despite having booked and paid for a night we were unable to stay as the property was locked up and nobody was around and no one was contactable by phone either so all in all a very unsatisfactory outcome having driven all the way up from Hawkes Bay!

Property was awesome. Nice and clean. I booked a room for 3 adults and 1 child. We were ok sharing the bed with our younger son and my older boy slept on the couch. I was expecting another bed but never mind he was ok on the couch. Service was excellent and our boy enjoyed playing with the puppies before we left. The only thing that i recommend for future improvement, is that workers shouldn't enter the rooms, because we paid to stay at the property for 2 nights. We attend a church function so we leave around 9am and go to the property around 10.15pm. We left our tooth brushes on the zink and KFC inside the fridge on the first night thinking that's our dinner for the next day because we depart the camp late at night and there's no shops nearby, we have to drive further down to buy food. we come home late Friday Evening, and the room was nice and clean. Which is great but the cleaners chucked away our Bucket of KFC that was inside the fridge. So we end up having biscuits for dinner. Tooth brushes was gone too. For sure it's in the rubbish bin.Overall I'm happy with the service and everything was great. Only small things that need to improved but definitely a 10/10

Väldigt trevligt med alla djur, borde vara perfekt för en barnfamilj. Utemiljön där man kunde fika och umgås var bra. Dock var resten av innergården skräpig. Irriterade mig på att boendet har små påsar för tvål och schampo istället för flaskor. Att öppna en påse i duschen med blöta fingrar fungerar inget bra
