We booked a room that would sleep 5 people and then arrived very late due to a delayed train. They gave us 2 rooms instead of one, which would have been fine except that each room had only 2 single beds. There was no where for our 5th person to sleep. I had to beg for a pillow and blanket so that I could make my daughter a bed on the floor. This process took an additional 30 minutes after an already very long day. But, breakfast was good and the place was nice overall. It was easy to get back the the train via bus in the morning.

I visit Wilhelmsburg every year to see family and always stay at Novum hotel Hagermann. I am very happy with the facilities there. The only thing that I would like is a place to sit and have a coffee or a drink in the evening. The staff are very nice.

It’s a very nice hotel to stay at. It’s clean , comfortable, very friendly staff , parking available for only 2€ per day. Overall very happy with this hotel. The Neighbourhood is a bit run down.

Great stay in a mediocre place.
We order a double room. I didn't notice that it was two single beds, so I asked if they had a double bed. They had... in a smaller annex... in the parking lot :D At first it felt strange to stay there, but a couple of minutes later we very much liked it. The room could use a workman, who could tighten some screws. Bed big and good. Area not close to "fancy", but very close to bus, runs all night, and can bring you to the train in 5 minutes, the train will bring you to the city in 15 minutes. Staff very friendly and helpful :) Breakfast was poor, but in a very nice room.

Always happy to stay at the Hagerman in wilhelmsburg. The only thing that for me would be nice is a lounge / coffee/ bar that is open in the evenings. All the staff are friendly and efficient,rooms are clean and comfortable. My grandchildren live very near the hotel and it’s convenient for me to visit.

Very enjoyable stay in a comfy, no frills hotel.
The staff are very welcoming and helpful, most speak very good English and are happy to help. Generous buffet breakfast served up to mid morning if you need a lie in. The hotel is very clean and well maintained throughout and the room was comfortable with easy, consistent wi-fi access. It is very easy to get into the centre of Hamburg and the airport on public transport. There is a very regular bus service from the stop right outside the hotel. I found a nice walk along the river bank and a park with tennis court behind the hotel. The google map picture shows a view from the road which gives a completely wrong impression of what is a nice hotel in a quiet residential area.

A bit out the way , about 25 mins to central station either by bus or bus and train . Not much to do in the area and if I travel to Hamburg again I would definitely stay closer to the centre. Also if you stay in the apartment annex of the hotel there’s no wi fi.

Good location but hard to believe I will come back
Staying here was between good and bad. The location is not well placed, in a dirty, poor and somewhat uncertain neighborhood, away from the center, but with fast transport options. The room was clean and spacious but dazzling because of the street traffic. Towels changed only once in 4 days. Receptionist was ok. Breakfast was very good and varied. The dining room was very spacious and beautiful, but sad and rude staff.

Decent hotel poor location
Hotel is clean and comfortable for short stay. Hotel certainly looks better from the back car park rather than the front which was covered in graffiti. Not the best area but turn left out of hotel and you will come to a pleasant canal side bar serving meals.Breakfast was fine for us. We had a large family room which was very well equipped and spacious. On the whole happy for the price paid for a 4 night stay

Nice 3 night stay at Novum Hotel Hagemann
We had a very enjoyable 3-night stay at this hotel. It is located around 25 minutes away from the city centre by local transport (Tip: Buy the "9am group ticket" - it is a good bargain). The hotel looks a bit old from the outside, but is very nice from the inside, with traditional Hamburg decorations in reception, corridors and the breakfast room. Staff were very nice and friendly. Good value for money.

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was very clean; the beds were comfortable. The front desk staff was kind and helpful, and spoke fluent english. The breakfast was great. I chose this hotel because of the nautical theme; the restaurant is straight out of the 1970s. Would recommend.

Hotel a little way out from Hamburg, butvery good connecting ttransport. Hotel very clean, excellent breakfast for price paid for overall stay. Staff very friendly, helpful and polite. Rooms spotlessly clean, good heating and ventilation. Only negatives were pillows uncomfortable and hideous lamp shade over the bed. Overall great excellent value for money hotel.

The hotel is located in HH-whilhelmsburg. We stayed there to see the musician lion king which is a 15 mins rice away. The parking is complete joke. We came back from the show at 9.30 and everything was full. The have parking for 30 cars. We've been told to park on the street... Which was full and sketchy anyways. Room was good - clean and comfy. Breakfast was ok, nothing special and could be improved.

The other side of Hamburg... in more than one way
The hotel is located in an old working-class neighborhood that sports a high percentage of residents with a migrant background. I would think that most hotel guests use the hotel as a hub for explorations into the touristy side of Hamburg on the other side of River Elbe, but if you have at least a tiny bit of tolerance for "otherness", then you should do yourself a favor and spend at least a couple of hours one afternoon or early evening and walk around in the immediate neighborhood before gentrification takes over. Have a meal in one of the small Turkish restaurants and you may feel more welcome than at any tourist place you will visit in upscale Hamburg...

Enjoyable stay in a lovely room
Thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. We had a large, nicely decorated and clean family room with four comfortable beds and a large bathroom. We faced the rear of the building and it was exceptionally quiet. The breakfast had a good range of hot and cold food in plentiful quantities. The location is only a 15 minute drive from central Hamburg, but there are good public transport links too. The neighbourhood is, ahem, not at the top of the socio-economic scale and a bit run down, but don't let this put you off the hotel, which is a nice building in good condition. I only downrated the staff as the twice that I stood at reception they seemed to take a long time to speak to me for no obvious reason, however they were pleasant enough.
