Die wunderschöne Natur der Inselwelt in der Halongbucht haben meine Frau und mich bewogen, diese Gegend nach zwanzig Jahren ein zweites Mal zu besuchen. Das Hotel ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind sauber und praktisch/ die Betten bequem. Frühstück ist gut. Neben asiatischen Reis- und Nudelgerichten, Suppe und Obst gibt es auch Toastbrot und man kann sich in der Küche Spiegelei oder Omelett zubereiten lassen.
Das Hotel liegt in einem sehr schönen, ruhigen neuen Stadtviertel im Wiener Baustil des vorletzten Jahrhunderts.
Nachteile:
Mit der Ruhe ist es am Abend vorbei, wenn eine Techno-Disko am Strand die Lautsprecher einschaltet (jede Nacht).
Das Stadtviertel gleicht einer Geisterstadt. Die Wohnung stehen leer. Es gibt drei Kioske, die nur ein begrenztes Lebensmittelangebot haben. Das nächste Restaurant ist einen Kilometer Fußmarsch entfernt. Taxifahrten sind nicht zu empfehlen. Die Fahrer nehmen Wucherpreise und man ist dem wehrlos ausgeliefert. Es gibt zwar Bushaltestellen. Aber es fahren keine Busse. Ein Fahrrad-Verleih wäre hilfreich.
Um die Ecke gibt es ein kleines Restaurant. Aber wir als Ausländer wurden nicht bedient. Nur Vietnamesen bekamen dort zu essen. Alle anderen bei Google angegebenen Restaurants waren geschlossen.
Und das Naturwunder Halong-Bucht ist zum Touristenrummel verkommen. Alle Ausflugsziele sind überlaufen. Es ist stressig und laut. Von Genießen kann keine Rede sein.
