We absolutely loved our stay at Silver Sands. The vibe was amazing! The retro styling and overall ambience sets the tone for a relaxing and unforgettable get away. The staff was professional and incredible friendly. The attention to detail was phenomenal. I highly recommended having breakfast at their dinner as well. Trust me you can't go wrong if you stay at Silver Sands.

Our beach shack was amazing. We had a great stay! It was very clean and comfortable. Loved the robes and slippers. The breakfast in the on site restaurant was great.

The Silver Sands is a diamond on the water overlooking Shelter Island. The renovation of the property is awesome. Tastefully done with a beach theme including the office with a nice bar that you can order drinks. They have cruiser bikes available. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The deck on the beach is a great spot to relax to enjoy the beautiful views. We will definitely return.

Super hip and colorful place! All employees on the premises were really kind and helpful. I read on a previous review that there was complimentary coffee in mornings however in the morning we were directed to Nookies, the diner for coffee, where we received very small coffees that were charged to our room.. Additionally, I called before our stay as it was my mother’s birthday, and asked if there was any way they could write a card saying happy birthday to surprise her. Instead, I was directed to another employee to discuss “add-on packages,” which I declined as I felt that to be unnecessary. There was no card written which was a little disappointing. Overall would come back as the grounds were very well kept.

We are also appreciative of your constructive observations regarding some aspects of your stay that fell short of your expectations. First, we sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding our coffee service. To clarify our policy, we offer complimentary coffee in the lobby every day from 7:30am to 11:00am as a small token of hospitality. For those with a penchant for more specialized coffees, our diner, Nookies, features a full coffee bar and full breakfast menu, ala carte. During your visit, we were training new staff for the upcoming summer season, and it seems like they might not have communicated this clearly, leading you to Nookies, our diner, where coffee is available for purchase. We're using your feedback to improve our staff training to avoid this kind of misunderstanding in the future. Regarding the birthday card for your mother, I apologize that we didn't meet your expectations. Our intention was to offer you options through our "add-on packages," but I understand this was not what you had in mind. We should have been more attentive to your request, and I regret that this oversight affected your experience. We value your feedback as it helps us refine our approach to guest service and make sure every interaction is personalized and thoughtful. I can't say enough about this incredible property. The rooms are perfect, well appointed and designed down to the last small detail. The property has the most incredible waterfront views and the food and service are some of the best I have ever had. Already planning my next visit!

Recently renovated motel and cabins are beautifully appointed and very comfortable. There’s a restaurant, cafe, and bar with a lovely beach and places to sit all around. Very attentive and friendly staff AND we’ll be back. We travel a lot and this is one of the nicest places we’ve stayed!

Silver Sands is a great place to explore the North Fork from and enjoy the water. The room was lovely and the beach was great; the decor and style of the whole place was topnotch. They didn't have coffee makers in the room which seemed strange and you had to buy it from the "cafe", which seemed a little over the top considering the price of the rooms. We were told that as guests we could just walk up to the bar at the restaurant and order drinks, but when we went we were told it would take over 20 minutes for us to even order. For a drink?

At that price, the room was spot on. We had no complaints, other than perhaps running out of hot water. But otherwise, it was fine and its gots its own lovely beach, so its worth the price tag. That said, at that price, they could have done a bit better to make it really great. 1. Room amenities such as a decent coffee maker and coffer and beverages and snacks in the mini bar would be nice. 2. Check out later than 11am? Please! And they are way too rigid about this, especially since check in is at 3pm and their room cleaners dont really seem to be pressed for time - eg. Our room finally got cleaned around 5pm. 3. Reception staff are friendly enough, but a bit perfunctory and dont seem willing to engage at a 5 star level. 4. In terms of service, their Eddies Oyster was a bit the same. Politely curt and made me wait for 15 minutes to only tell me they had no availability until 2pm. Despite the fact that I was there at noon, and the first one there. Anyway. High prices. Not 5 star, for sure. But nice stay, I suppose. Certainly one of the best and more reasonably priced places for the North Shore and the Hamptons.

Because our Beach Shacks and Bungalows are not directly adjacent to Nookies like the motel rooms, we have equipped them with Chemex pour-over coffee makers and tea set-ups. In regards to our check-out time, we are happy to accommodate guests until noon upon request. Additionally, all guests are welcome to extend their stay at the property after check-out if they wish to continue enjoying the beach or grounds.Your comments regarding your experience at Eddie’s and our reception are well noted. Had the most relaxing stay at Silver Sands. The property was beautiful, the coffee and pastries in the morning were delicious, and had the best meal at Eddy's. Wish they allowed dogs though.
