Gena's Sierra Inn & Restaurant

Gena's Sierra Inn & Restaurant

10/10 Excellent
"Our family of 4 adults enjoyed our extended weekend stay very much! We had everything we needed to cook our own meals but the food at Bella Brook Cafe was so excellent we split our meals between. Our young adult kids (20-somethings) had their own beds in the Hunter’s Lodge where we stayed and we were able to do some laundry on site after hiking in Yosemite and KC/Sequoia. Highly recommend if you don’t require Hilton standards but want clean, comfortable and eclectic. Air conditioning was awesome as well! Excellent streaming options for TV as well, although we weren’t in the room very much to utilize. A+ service and staff!"

"This was honestly one of the best places I’ve ever stayed and we are already can’t wait to go back. Of course the location is beautiful and the amenities were great and staying in the retro looking airstreams was really cool. Everything is well maintained and clean despite the struggle of being in nature. It was nice being able to have the experience of “camping” with our son and our dog without so much of the extra work that goes into it so he could play outdoors and we could relax enough to enjoy it. It’s such a great environment for kids and our 4 year old loved the activities and games and making friends at the river and looking for frogs and going in the pool at dusk to see what nature he could see from the pool. And we were there for the Dark Sky Festival and it was a great place for that. But the staff just went so far above and beyond to make everything special for the kids and you can tell they all actually like people and dogs because they were so friendly and helpful. The front desk staff is constantly helping with different things and they even sent someone to start our fire (twice) and both times he got there in less than 5 minutes! And we try to keep a close eye on our son but it was really nice not feeling on edge or worrying about him getting too excited because it was set up to be so family friendly. They even pampered our corgi and gave her love and attention! Thank you to everyone for the best vacation I really appreciated all your hard work!"

The Gateway Restaurant & Lodge

The Gateway Restaurant & Lodge

8/10 Good
"Great location. The restaurant was oddly hit or miss; most meals we had were fantastic, but one night was surprisingly mediocre. The room was cozy, but not quite comfy. The toilet didn’t have a lid, the sliding balcony door needed a lot of muscle to lock, and the a/c was a bit loud. Also, the housekeeping staff, while super friendly and helpful, started each day talking just outside our window… at 6:30."
