"Thank you June and Mark for a lovely stay at Little Beeches. We felt welcomed from the start. The home is tasteful and homely. While some holiday rentals can feel sparse and functional, in contrast it is obvious that a lot of thought and care has been put into making the cottage feel like a home. "The property was of a basic nature and very tired in places. The bathroom paint was peeling off the walls. The bed was a small queen bed that wasn't big enough for 2 adults to get a good night sleep. The mattress was very thin and uncomfortable. Due to this we left the property early and had to book a hotel. I also tried to contact the property as advised by Sykes cottages, but my calls were unanswered and not returned. Overall a disappointing stay. There are plenty of better rentals available."

Ruthin Castle Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Second stay, just as enjoyable as the first. Staff are friendly, rooms are a good size though it can be a bit of a walk from reception and a little maze like. Nice location although the building itself is showing signs of its age. Spa downstairs is well equipped and there are lots of peacocks wandering around the grounds. Area is very nice, close to Snowdon, not too far from Chester or the coast. "

"Unfortunately if you book a room through anyone other than the hotel then the spa facilities cost extra and the availability of the sessions in the spa are limited to 12 people at a time and are usually booked days in advance. To be charged extra for the spa after booking into a hotel advertised as hotel and spa, I was quite shocked. They will also charge extra for a towel and significantly extra for a robe. The rooms aren’t services unless requested, which we didn’t read until our second evening after wondering why the room hadn’t been serviced. If you wanted extra coffee and tea, it is an additional £5 per tray… the rooms are cramped in tightly and there is no telephone in the room so if you have any queries, then you have to walk a long way to find help. Such a shame as the location was great and the lady on the reception was very friendly but it is way too expensive for what you get here, I would advise to look elsewhere. "
