We stayed in a comfortable twin room at the Hand Hotel with a view across the river. One of the beds was slightly tilted due to the sloping floor which could have been easily corrected by using feet raisers on two of the bed legs.

Incredible location close to everything, friendly staff, good value. The rooms are basic but comfortable, with nice views, lots of amenities including kettle, full bath. Llangollen is a beautiful, friendly town with local shops/no franchises. There are wonderful walks along canals to waterfalls, deserted abbeys.

Good staff and location but the hotel is badly maintained, out of date, and in need of a serious renovation. Shower and bed were poor. Rooms very dated. I do not plan to stay again. Note: This is a pub so can be a little loud, but to be expected.

The room and hotel generally could do with a bit of TLC. The breakfast was okay but things kept needing to be refilled etc and it wasn't very busy. All staff were helpful and friendly though and since it was quite cheap, it was good value for money.

Upon arrival there was a queue to check in with no staff at reception. After a short wait I went to find someone. Was told by the bar staff member he would come once he had served at bar. Shower didn't work in room so had to be moved to another. There was running water in this room however more of a drizzle out the shower so impossible to use. Toilet roll holder broken. Very run down and needs a lot of money spending on it. Breakfast in morning wasn't the best either. Me and my husband left it and went and paid for a breakfast elsewhere
