"The room was clean and smelled fresh bedding and everything seemed good a little wear and tear visible on most of the furnishings - except the chair… the first thing you see is this beat up chair in the corner with a completely cracked vinyl seat cushion and tape on parts of the fabric and legs- it was very off putting right of the bat and made me almost leave. I saw another chair like that in a common area, also. Buy new chairs or just remove the old ones, it really looks bad! And immediately I had a bad feeling about staying. I don’t understand why cleaning staff or someone wouldn’t flag it and have it replaced or removed. The location is good with a beautiful wide beach. Staff was friendly. "

"The nature here is absolutely fantastic — the beach walks and bike rides are truly the highlight. Just be prepared for a little “surprise” at checkout… about 20% extra on top of the fees and taxes on Orbitz, nicely labeled as a “nature preservation” fee. Gotta support the views, I guess 🙂 The property itself is a bit dated — especially the spa center. The pool, jacuzzi, and sauna have definitely seen better days, and the one-shower-per-locker-room setup with empty sample-size shampoo dispensers adds a certain… minimalist charm. It’s also very pet-friendly — which is great, unless it’s your neighbor’s dog enthusiastically trying to scratch through the connecting door all night. A truly immersive experience."

"Staff was wonderful. Especially Madison and the manager. So helpful, patient and accommodating. We were very disappointed in the room we got. I think it was the last room to accommodate for people in the spring break week. I did not know such a room existed as in my many states I have always been in the front row of cottages. The four of us cousins and sisters are in our 70s and the stairs down to the room and down to the second bedroom in the room. We’re very hard to navigate. We were also disappointed that although we had a lovely view from the picture window in the room, it was not what we were used to staying at the Ester lee in a cottage. Now that we know how to book so that we get the room we like we will be able to avoid that problem, but it was quite disappointing. "

"We enjoyed staying here as we have two times before. The rooms, the views, and the pool, sauna and hot tub are very nice. The staff is always friendly and welcoming and they have some nice touches like putting out fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon around check in time. They used to have a happy hour from the desk and give a complimentary afternoon short wine pour that you could take out to the firepits, but that is no longer offered. We have enjoyed the complimentary breakfast in the past but this time it disappointed. The breakfast was the exact same everyday. Microwave sausages, crockpot of white sausage gravy with the same sausages, powdered eggs, cubed potatoes and waffles. By day 3 of 4 they put out a bowl of cut melon, that was the only fruit we ever saw. Would have appreciated more fruits or anything with fiber or protein. I resorted to Raisin Bran the 3rd day and we didn’t eat the breakfast on our last day, I couldn’t do it anymore. We will still recommend this location but wish they would bring back some of the special touches that made this a great getaway. "
