The facilities were much more satisfactory than I expected. I was also satisfied with the elevator, kitchen, and view. However, the bedding smelled like it was not dry and the pillow smelled, so I put on the cover I brought and slept. The pillow cover was fine, but the pillow itself should be washed in hot water or replaced with a new one. Room number 3612

The check in process was difficult as our US phone needed wifi to comply. We had to communicate several times to get the info via email. They were polite, but it took a while. The outside check-in machine didn't work. The shared kitchen where they wanted us to eat was obviously used on our arrival. Our room was clean and tidy. We could have used more heat. It would have been really nice to have an actual person on the premises.

Excellent value and location, nice room

I have no idea why this place has mixed reviews - I thought it was excellent. Location was amazing - right in the town centre - the room was bright and clean and actually really nice- of course there was a buzz and hubbub from the street below but it didn't go in ridiculously late or detract from a good night's sleep, the beds and pillow were comfy, everything was fine. In addition, the hostel has a fast lift, the auto check-in works like a dream; the price was good (around 60€ for 2 pax) and messages were generally answered quickly via the Hotels app. It would perhaps be useful to be told that luggage sent ahead will be left on the 2nd floor terrace near the reception desk - we had a brief panic on arrival, not having had that info, but a WhatsApp message sorted things out within a few minutes. There is a launderette directly opposite the hostel (think it said it closes at 8.30pm).

Great no-frills hotel in the heart of Gernika. The rooms are basic but if you get a good price, I would recommend it for somewhere to stay. The pin entry system makes check in simple and the owners were communicative.

This is an old school property from the 50s 60s that has the check in desk on the 2nd floor, 1 up from the street. The rooms are compact but functional. It's a throw back to an earlier age.

Not great.

It was inexpensive and was just a bed for the night but was just not very nice. Tired tatty furniture. Saw no one at all. Upstairs was a communal kitchen that was horrible. It was more of a cheap hostel really.

No lo recomiendo para nada

Habitacion extrapequeña con un olor horrible a humedad.No te pasan a limpiar la habitacion y el baño pegado a la cama. El armario sin puerta se cae a trozos las baldas y la barra para colgar la ropa se doblaba con el peso. Justo frente a la ventana habia un bar de copas, y hasta que no cerraban era imposible dormir. Se venden como hotel y es una pension de paso. Un sobrecito de champu y gel de ducha para tres noches, y el rollo de papel de baño lo tuve que comprar. Me fui a la segunda noche de estar ahi teniendo pagadas tres noches. Una experiencia horrible.

El apartamento sucio, con restos de pelos en el baño. El aseo no tiene puerta. Paredes con humedad. Sin calefacción y mucho frío. Pegado al ascensor por lo que mucho ruido cada vez que alguien esperaba el ascensor. Habitación vieja, con mal olor y sensación de abandonada. No quisimos quedarnos. Nos fuimos a la noche. Demasiado frío. No os fiéis del precio. Lo barato sale caro
