They have a fire pit, laundry room and kitchen that guests can use. There is a beautiful in ground pool.

We have stayed at the Grant Hill Motel many times before, and we were happy to see the upgrades they had made.

Can't say enough about how friendly and helpful Sherry at from desk was. She was very attentive to our needs. Room was nice and clean.

Omg very clean.. we rested very well.. I had just had a procedure and the beds were comfortable and ambiance was peaceful.. the property is exceptionally clean… I would definitely recommend your stay here . Galena is a few minutes away..

This is a very nice motel. The room was clean and well appointed with a microwave and mini fridge. It is very convenient to Galena. Staff was cordial and accommodating.

Close to town and other attractions, owner was very accommodating and friendly, but of course you're not gonna get a crazy suite for the price point, but my room had clean furniture, little to no dust, a hot shower, and a nice air conditioning unit.. Can't beat it, thank you!

This was our first time staying at Grant Hills and it was very pleasant. The owner was very friendly and helpful when we checked in. The motel is older but very well kept and comfortable. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, it had a microwave and refrigerator and it was nicely decorated. It met all our needs and we will definitely come back the next time we’re in Galena.

Nothing fancy- but adequate!
This motel may not have all the amenities of a bigger hotel but it was very clean, staff was quite friendly, and I felt safe there staying alone. The beds were listed as queens but I'm pretty sure they were full size. There was a microwave and mini refrig in the room. It would have been nice to have a coffee pot, but coffee was offered at the front desk. I noticed picnic tables and firepit out back, but it was Nov. There also is a nice looking outdoor pool, but again, it was Nov during my stay. if you want to save money and just have a clean room and bed...this is your place.

Thank you for your feedback. You will definitely have to come back in the summertime and enjoy our heated outdoor pool :). We had a busy weekend this weekend full Motel and the fire pit definitely had been used the whole weekend :).

Cute office area. Friendly staff- Room typical for a motel. Got a room with 2 beds, But 2 different mattresses-both extremely uncomfortable. Old- sunk to middle. Pillows flat. Clean bathroom. Great location.

Grant Hills Motel, very affordable and friendly!
We had the Queen Room. Everything was very clean and bed was comfy. Checking in was fast and easy. Hotel owner was very friendly. No breakfast, which is totally fine, but she does coffee and hot water for tea every morning. We were in town for a wedding and it was a great priced place to stay very close to the resort and downtown Galena. Def would stay here again!

Clean, welcoming, has a firepit out back with free firewood that was great! Beautiful and well kept grounds. Now, just know you arent staying at a “Hilton”. Its a “vintage” motel, so keep that it mind!

Room unsafe without a working deadbolt lock, not just a chain. Shower was ultra slick with no grab bars or sufficient number and placement of non-slip tub stickers to prevent falls. Parking for our room on the back side was ridiculous (not enough spaces). Very clean rooms, though.

Thank you for your feedback. Deadbolt was fixed. Shower does have the non-slip stickers as you call it. We have certain rooms that have the grab bar usually it is requested. We have 33 rooms here and all of our rooms are usually booked so parking can be a bit of a hassle but it is do able. We do have very clean rooms our Motel has been here since 1955, we work very hard to please our guest.

Our stay at Grant Hills was very pleasant. We were in Galena to attend a family wedding. The motel was just what we needed, and we didn’t have to pay for all the extra amenities that we would not have used elsewhere.

No breakfast provided, just coffee or tea hotel is a no frills place, room was smallish but we did have queen bed not much noise from room to room thru walls I would stay again if I needed a place to stay while in Galena

The road noise was horrible, unable to sleep and pillows were flat, no support at all. Sidewalks were deteriorating and hard to walk on.

We carry brand new pillows had you requested different pillows we would have been more than happy to accommodate you in this matter. We have been here since 1955, still a work in progress. Sorry you did not enjoy your stay.

My Go-To Place
Grant Hills is my go-to place when I'm in the Dubuque/Galena area a few times each year. Besides just the cool retro feel, the rooms are always white-glove-test clean and the staff is always the friendliest you'll find. Always glad I stumbled upon this place a few years ago - see you again next Spring!

Would always stay here when I come up to Galena, never an issue. But this time around, it was a bit lacking. . . Uncomfortably Thin pillows and bathrooms that needed some attention. . .

The owner Sheri?? Was wonderful!! Very accommodating. Came early and room was ready so allowed us to check in early. Gave us recommendations for breakfast—Dillon’s(very good). Motel was clean. Has an outdoor pool, fire pit out back and picnic area. Quiet except for some highway noise. Not fancy but reasonably priced. Also has very nice well mannered dogs.

Very cute and friendly place. We would stay there again. We enjoyed the pool and fire pit. We did think it could be kept up a little better. The vending machine didn't work, and a few other things on the property needed repair.

A very friendly place to say. Everyone was wonderful and we will definitely say again! Very clean rooms, nice pool, nice fire pit out back, cozy seating right outside of rooms. They are pet friendly (we will remember that for next time) can honestly say this was the best stay away from home I’ve ever had! Thanks for such great hospitality!
