We loved the cental location with so many restaurants and activities literally on the door step.The property was well equipped with lovely comfortable bed and lots of hanging space .Sadly the weather wasnt great whilst we were there. So the garden was in constant shade so we werent able to make use of it. Also there is absolutely nowhere for taxis to stop outside which made drop off and pick up tricky.We got dropped off at the other entrance to the property and neither us or the driver knew how to get there.Luckily the lovely Alex was on hand to advise. Pick up was tricky too as there was nowhere outside for driver to stop. Would be better for all if arrangement was to meet taxis by the very nearby cable car stop. The decor was non existemt in that the property is just plain walls and the lighting was poor. Would have benefitted from a coat of paint and more lights. Despite that we had a good holiday , the nearby restaurants were all excellent. Selling all locally sourced beautiful fruit and vegetables and a huge quantity of excellent fresh fish readily available and the very local farmers market sells all this and much more too ,, though definitely worth a visit.Everyone that we met was very friendly and helpful and the area feels very safe, though on arrival we were a little worried there is no safe in the property, but once we settled in, realised this was probably not necessary. All in all, an enjoyable holiday, just a few little tweaks would make even better.

A fabulous location, and surprisingly quiet for being in the heart of the old town. Apartment 1 is at the top of the building with 2 steep staircases to navigate. But once up there it is airy and bright with everything you could need. No hanging space for clothes but lots of room to store items flat. Accommodating and quick response to messages with host. Excellent location! Had a wonderful stay. Ombrigada.

Belle maison, bien située, mais problème d'infestation de fourmis. Les gestionnaires de l'endroit on mis un repulsif (je ne sais pas quoi exactement) pour tyer les foumis, et la nuit j'etais tres etourdis et je me sentais pas bien.

Wir danken herzlich dem Vermieter Team. Alle waren sehr hilfsbereit, gastfreundlich und herzlich. Wir haben 2 verschiedene Apartments in dem Haus bewohnt und waren in beiden Fällen sehr zufrieden. Die Lage direkt in der Altstadt ist etwas besonderes, trotzdem war es nicht übermäßig laut. Die Wohnungen waren für uns als vierköpfige Familie ausreichend, für ein Paar wäre die Wohnungen großzügig. Alles war top sauber und gemütlich - absolute Empfehlung!

Great apartment in a great location!

The apartment and our host were both fabulous. The location is close to many shops, restaurants, and the water, but is fairly quiet because the units face an inner garden instead of the street.

The apartment was well situated in the heart of the old town just off the famous santa maria street with painted doors and fabulous restaurants. The apartment was very comfortable and we used all the space! the balcony was the best part. The noise at night is a challenge - if you are a light sleeper, this is not for you. The taberna madeira bar is behind the property and is very loud until 2am. The bathroom could use a bigger sink and storage area - made it a bit cumbersume, but all the decor is lovely and the couch is comfortable. Very close to the cable car as well and taxi stand....a great location.

Well appointed apartment

This is a lovely apartment in the heart of Old town Funchal, so its a perfect location for the restaurants and access to the sea. The air-conditioning and double glazing meant the apartment was very quiet (Otherwise the area can get noisy at night during the weekends). The bed was very comfortable too, so I had great sleep. Everything else was well provided for - the kitchen even has an electric juice press and coffee pod machine. The host was really helpful, met me on time to welcome me and was available via WhatsApp through the stay to arrange linen changes and cleaning etc.

Just a great place to stay in Funchal

Very comfortable and well-equipped place in the heart of Funchal, just steps away from the Farmers Market as well as from great number of fine restaurants and supermarkets. Hosts are also very pleasant and rapidly reply for any possible questions. Highly recommended as a place for short or long stay. The only moment you have to mind is that there may be lack of parking places nearby and they are paid (except night time and Sundays). But within few minutes walking there is a covered parking for a maximum amount of 10 Euro daily (as for March, 2020).

Emplacement idéal si l'on ne craint pas le bruit de la ville et les odeurs de cuisine des restaurants tout prêt. Personnellement cela ne nous a pas trop dérangées. Pas de parking privé.
