"The apartment was in a very central location, only a few moments away from the main shopping mall in Funchal, and coffee shop almost on the doorstep. There was a kitchenette, washing machine and ironing board provided, and all useful utensils provided (even sachets of oil for using the frying pan). Check in was simple with the use of door codes. "My husband and I had an excellent stay at the editory. The hotel was very clean, the facilities were great and the staff were all lovely. The bed was very comfortable and a great shower also. The location was perfect! There were lots of very good restaurants nearby and a shopping mall 2mins walk from the hotel. Would definitely return and recommend to friends and family."

"Really excellent stay here, first time to this Hotel, 5th time to Madeira. I have no hesitation to recommend this hotel, one of the best I have ever stayed at! Staff are really nice, friendly, and cannot do enough for you. Rooms - Standard, all very ample, clean and tidy, ample room etc. I would pick a full sea view if possible. Food and Drinks, amazing, loads of choices. Lots to choose from! breakfast all very good, lunch excellent and dinner. Sports Bar and Snack area are amazing. Great location, checkin and reception staff all very good, again cannot do enough for you. Would 100% revisit this hotel with our family again! Also the come around at the pool and can get drinks for you - amazing, but I choice at some days to get it myself, exercise and all that :)"

"Property staff quite friendly and speak plenty if languages. Check in was available early and checkout we were able to store our luggage and use all the facilities until we were ready to leave funchal. Breakfast buffet is incredible with plenty of variety and volume. No nuisance birds due to on-site falconry. Would recommend, and return. Stayed with adult friends."

"Beautiful property with an excellent layout. Staff and service were impeccable. We enjoyed several restaurants including Pau de Lume and Nikkei on premises. We also enjoyed massages and use of the immense Laurea Spa. We would definitely stay here again."

"We got a stunning room (an upgrade I guess, as we were celebrating a special occasion). All the rooms seemed to have lovely balconies. The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great and the dining courtyard was so lovely and peaceful. The rooftop pool was a great place to relax after busy hiking days. The people at the hotel (we saw Claudia at the main desk the most) were warm and very helpful. The location was excellent and they have parking right next door. My only suggestion would be that they should replace the glass/ clear plastic barrier on the rooftop to make the pool area feel nicer. It’s got a great view but somewhat obstructed by this foggy clear barrier. Overall we loved this hotel and would stay here again"

"Such a beautiful experience at Reid’s. The staff was a delight and super helpful. Everything was taken care of. We needed a bandaid and the front desk had it in his jacket pocket! They think of everything! We booked several experiences with them and they all were done amazingly well. There were some hiccups in our transfers but very minor. We’ll be back!"
