Highly recommend

Have stayed here before and will stay again. Central location, comfortable apartment, good wifi. Note there is a disco open on Fri & Sat nights (possibly others nights too?) across the street from the living room window, so you will hear the music.

Great location. Huge space. However, bed was hard as a rock and noise from the disco was unbearable until 2 am on Friday and Saturday and although not as loud the other nights, it still kept me up past midnight even with all windows closed. Property is newly remodeled. Paint is fresh. Furniture is uncomfortable and kitchen lacks even the basics of salt/pepper and paper towels It was fine for the price, but I would pay more and stay elsewhere if I returned

Excellent location right in the centre by the seafront . Enormous 2 bed flat , fully equipped. Staff onsight to check you in. Beds very firm good for me but not everyone s comfort. Needed more than one fan didn't ask if could have more as weather just becoming hot as left. The warning of very late night , very early morning noise , music, talking, putting away and setting out restaurants was accurate, so we expected it. We took ear plugs, and managed most nights but if you struggle with getting to sleep not ideal.

The property is very close to the water and there are LOTS of dining options nearby (in fact the first floor has a restaurant). It can get loud in the evening but we knew that would be the case and expected it. However the communication in terms of after arriving to the property was challenging. We waiting around the property before we saw anyone to ask about check in, and calls were not going through. It was Sunday morning and the office was closed but I had given my arrival information in advance so it would have been nice to get a little more clarification on the check in instructions. But once we had checked in and gotten our room, everything was smooth after that. Just be aware that there is no air conditioning and the fan that is in the room does not work very well.

Poor host that showed rudeness & indifference before travel, during arrival, and while staying. Due to the nature of the area being a heavy foot-traffic restaurant hub, it seemed like lodgers were an inconvenience rather than a customer.

Vanessa was very helpful and The property could have been very nice. However, daily street noises from restaurants, pedestrian traffic, cars, karaoke and the nightclub made it unbearable. Access was often difficult due to eating tables at the entrance. Other issues included Suffocating heat, strong odors from the sewer as well as car fumes, restaurants and cigarette smoke.

Other reviewers mentioned this, but this area is extremely noisy. However, it is very central so I suppose I cannot complain about this. I also found the beds to be very hard. We asked for extra toilet paper at reception and were told that we could not get any more. It was also very hot and we were only given one fan for two rooms

Do Not Book Here!

This is not a hotel and no front desk for check-in…very misleading that it’s on a hotel website. They require 72 hours to communicate or respond to messages. We arrived calling to try to check-in for hours from the airport. We sent messages for help to check-in and no one responded for days. We had to book another hotel upon arrival to Funchal so never even got to see our room that we prepaid for…Beware and Do not book here!

Lovely big apartment with everything you could need. Walkable just about anywhere including beach, lots of restaurants and cable cars. Noise was an issue but to be expected in the heart of old town. Best if you’re planning to be out late yourself!

Fab location.

The property is located just a two minute walk from the seafront. (Right by the cable car) Entrance liberally on one of the prettiest streets in the town. The downside therefore is the noise, we had number 3 on the side street which not only was busy with traffic from 5 am also had a nightclub of sorts which went on til 2 am most nights! The apartment itself was spotlessly clean and well equipped to self cater if you can resist the many local restaurant's which offer fabulous food. If you are a night owl or insomniac this could be a good choice, otherwise take good earplugs.

Funchal old town

Location was good, but as in the centre of the old town could be noisy when groups we’re returning home after 1am. Then the bin men @5am and the restaurant setting up After this. This wouldn’t had been an issue if the apartment had A/C as the doors/windows would had been closed and we wouldn't had heard them. But it was extremely hot the evenings we were there so was woken a few times. The restaurant below was fabulous with 10% if staying there well worth a visit.

The property and location were excellent but the noises was unbearable, first there was a cat and dog that would not keep quite until the early hours of the morning and then there was a club right next door to us that played the loudest music you have ever heard, you might think that the club was actually in your apartment.

Excellent Stay in Funchal

The stay far exceeded our expectations. Staff are ver friendly and helpful. Location is superb, nestled in a street full of tavernas, restaurants and small shops in the historic are of Funchal. The apartment is modern, well furnished and the kitchen is fully furnished as well as at home. WiFi is good. Satellite TV is limited for English channels (CNN / Sky news). I would bring an HDMI cable / Chromecast for a future visit. Stairs to reach the apartment, but didn't cause us any problems. Apartments number 1 to 5, with number 5 at the top of the building (most stairs, but benefits from a verandah). Location is on on a long street which is pedestrianised for most of the day. There are lots of perpendicular streets where cars can access. Probably about 50 yards from the taxi. Saturday night was very noisy, but it's an area that's packed with atmosphere, and it didn't cause us problems. Couple of minutes walk to the cable car.

Great apartment, great location!

Everything was great about this place! Super easy check in, very clean, kitchen had everything I could think of (veggie peeler, immersion blender, salt + pepper, cooking oil, etc), the washer is also a dryer and there’s a drying rack should you prefer it, comfy bed, spacious and lots of natural light through the windows. The Spar around the corner sells individual laundry sachets so no need to buy a big box. Note that Fri + Sat nights the bar across the street played loud music but I slept just fine. The wifi was excellent for streaming, downloading, etc. I highly recommend this centrally located apartment.
