Incorrect phone number given but great bus service
They provide an amazing pick-up service with one caveat; they sent the WRONG PHONE NUMBER to call. (The correct number is able to be found on the internet easily, I am just not very smart) When you call the number they send, it tells you the number doesn't exist. I had to take a bus up to the place, and then walk uphill in the dark with my luggage for about 20 minutes. They give you a convenient book that tells you the Bus station information desk can call them. But they didn't send this information in the 3 messages they send you. But they do give you the wrong phone number twice. They should include this information in this email as it will help a lot. This problem made my experience quite stressful. But it is something they can easily fix. So I still recommend this place. I particularly recommend this place with larger groups, as the cabins are spacious. They are cleaned well, and the kitchen is very convenient for cooking. The bathtubs were good, and the water was nice and hot!! Very hot water, I'm very happy with that.

The room was very large and had 2 floors, which we can choose either to sleep on normal single bed or futon. It also had two restrooms which was good if you travel with the group. The hotel served us simple breakfast with breads, veggie soup, juices & coffee at the room which was very nice although it was a bit too much for us. A few cons here would be the location of each room which is uphill and it wasn't pleasant to drag all heavy luggage to the room while check out time was a bit too early compared to other hotels we stayed.

We were a party of 8. We arrived early before check-in time and the hotel allowed us to drop off our luggage. The check-in was smooth and they have staff who spoken English and Chinese. We requested for bbq and it was setup in almost no time. We finished the bbq and went into the cottage to warm up for about 30 mins and by the time we came out to clear the pit, the hotel staff had already cleared it. The cottage was clean and well equipped. We could see Mt Fuji from the front as well as the upper rooms. We did not use the onsen. Overall, we are very happy with our stay. Will definitely consider stay here again especially if the group is big.

Definitely have to come here if you're driving. Forest was just right behind the room, making you relaxed away from the bustling Tokyo.

Great cottage at the hillside with a fantastic view of the lake and Mt Fuji. Paid breakfast was good and delivered to your cottage at your preferred time. However, we had to pay extra utilities bill of JPY2640 when we check out of the place. Wasn’t quite expecting that we have to pay these extras though.

Outstanding place to stay
this was a lovely place for a large extended family holiday. The cottages were really spacious, clean and well equipped. They supplied prepared food for a barbecue one evening and for a crab hot pot on the next evening There was lots of food and it was great sitting out together on the deck cooking drinking and laughing. The staff were excellent and some spoke English our stay could not have been improved. It was good in every way

Great countryside cottage
Quite sad that we arrive at 10 so we miss the onsen there. The environment was amazing, especially when we could see Mountain Fuji from our cottage. The breakfast was also great - it was brought to us in the morning at a time we specified when we check in. The stew tasted fresh and flavourful! After we read the guide, we found out that if we ask the staff at Kawaguchi station, they would notify the hotel and send someone to pick us up. If we have arrived early, we would not be taking taxi instead!

The place was very clean and the amenities are great. There’s a full kitchen and a barbecue area as well. The view would have been amazing if not for the bad weather. I’ll definitely consider this place again for future vacations.

Love the size of the cottages and the location. View of Mount Fuji amazing. Bit annoying to have to pay extra for electricity and the hot baths as accommodation is expensive but the hot baths were amazing so worth it in the end. Staff very friendly.

we love the house which is so spacious and facing the Fuji Mount only one thing to comment is breakfast. They were nearly similar for our two days of stay. It would be much better if you could change the menu especially the soup

Great for Family Trip
I had very great vacation. Nice view, services and the room was so large for big family group. This might be better if the owner had shown the map of rooms's location in the hotel which I can choose the best available one. (However, luckily, I got a great location one)

The cottage very beautiful and well maintained. The only down side is we were arranged to stay in the highest hillside and farthest cottage which can not reach by car and need to climb the stair. It a bit difficult for my parent. Public bath also located very far from my cottage, have to go by the same way and climb the same stair.

I was given a chalet with Mt Fuji view. Every morning I have a glimpse before I depart to other sightseeing location. But it’s advisable to have own vehicle for this property. We drove from Tokyo and stay for 2 nights. It’s nearby the Oishi park and music museum. Nice location !!!!

We enjoyed our stay so much that we wanted to extend another day but they had no available rooms. The staff was always very nice and helpful. The place was very relaxing, completely different pace from our first stop Tokyo. A great view of Mt Fuji and we enjoyed sitting in the balcony till late at night. Such a great place to stay if you want to unwind

Cottage is excellently clean, service super, provide shuttle to rental car Toyota and picked us up daily. love the on-sen, get to see Mt Fuji at real close, overall highly recommended. more suitable for family to have rental car, as the place is not quite within walking distance to anywhere. very country side. quiet, serene and green and beautiful with such fresh air !

Wonderful place to stay!
Travelling and staying at Kawaguchiko country cottage Ban was definitely a highlight to our trip. We stayed over night and wished we have of stayed longer. We got the courtesy bus from the station to the cottage with a quick stop at the Supermarket to get supplies for dinner. The bus driver was super helpful & it was fun trying to work out what everything was! The cottages were beautiful, clean & comfortable. The views of Mt Fuji from our balcony were amazing. It was a casual 15 minute stroll to the lake. We were able to take in the view of Mt Fuji, it was so beautiful. If you had time it would be gorgeous to paddle on the lake in the giant swans! The staff at the Cottages were so friendly and accommodating. We would totally recommend to stay here. It is at the quieter end of town; but after the hustle and bustle of Tokyo it was so beautiful. Thanks for having us! We'll be back!

Met Expectations and Then Some
I had done a lot of research, and Kawaguchiko Country Cottage Ban met my expectations and then some. It was just like in the photos I viewed online. We stayed 3 nights and were able to catch great views of Mt. Fuji from just outside our front door (and also from our cabin, but through the trees). The grounds themselves are very nice as is the onsen, which we used every day. We rented bikes one day and rode all the way around Lake Kawaguchi (about 10 miles). If you have good weather I highly recommend doing that! The town where the cottages are located has some good restaurants. One day we walked to the maple tunnel, waterfront, and all the way back via the area where the shrine is located. All the staff was very friendly and helpful despite limited English (one employee spoke English well, so she helped us the most). We had a hot, western style breakfast delivered to our cabin daily. It was very good, except it was almost exactly the same every time. It would've been nice for it to be different daily. Overall, we loved our stay, which was a relaxing and peaceful way to end out 2-1/2 week Japan trip. We would definitely book KawaguchikoCountry Cottage Ban again!

Perfect place for big family stay!
Overall is perfect for family travel. My only concern were the mosquitos and the dead bee I stepped on when I enter the room. Otherwise it's perfect and I will book again in the future.

A great getaway from the busyness of Tokyo
Set on the side of a cliff but closer enough to walk to the lakes edge. Hotel provided bus into town & pickup each day plus a special bus to take anyone to large supermarket for dinner & general supplies. Very friendly & helpful staff who were lovely enough to mail my postcard the following working day . Views of Mount Fuji from our room was stunning. Outside onsen is a must

Mount Fuji Cabin Experience!
We had a wonderful and memorable time here. Our stay here gave us a chance to have a different experience then staying at your normal hotel. Matsui and Reiko were such gracious hosts! They are an asset to the owner of this resort. We were taken to the grocery store at 5:00 at night and also they were more then happy to accommodate us by dropping us off in town and picking us up when they saw us walking back to Resort. The Resort also had everything we needed in order to have a comfortable stay. We had our own cabin. Great experience and we will be back! This place is not for the (Only Hotel, in house restaurant, top luxury client) it is for the clients who want a semi outdoor experience! Loved it!
