「A very good hotel with an excellent breakfast and great amenities. The room we stayed in—located on the floor 0 felt a bit dated; upon entering, there was a noticeable stale odor. In the evenings, there is wonderful live music in the bar and a very pleasant atmosphere. It is an adults-only hotel, though I would say its 55+. I recommend it for a peaceful, relaxing getaway!」

「The hotel was beautiful and clean. It was in the center of the old town. Restaurants on the streets on either side of the hotel. Music everywhere. One block from the water and one block from the Main Street. Everything you could imagine was in walking distance of the hotel. The best part was the rooftop infinity pool and the views from the rooftop were spectacular. Best breakfast buffet ever and it’s included in the stay. I’d recommend Barcelo Funchal Oldtime to anyone who wants to experience...

When we arrived the reception staff were very friendly and gave us a brief tour, when our room was ready we were again escorted there by a member of reception.
