「The staff was friendly and helpful. The room itself was very clean and true to the photos, but for some reason, it smelled like urine. Not sure if it was the cleaner that was used, maybe it contained ammonia? We asked the staff if there was an open room to switch to, but they were all booked. They did give us a bottle of febreeze, but unfortunately the smell was unpleasant and persisted. The hot water turned on quickly and stayed hot though! It was an overall okay budget stay. 「It’s a fun old-school hotel with a rich history. We enjoyed just about everything other than the fact that our room was located directly over the bar, that was blasting music until 2am. The charm of the place became overshadowed by the frustration of being unable to sleep until the bar closed. Would not recommend unless you are a very heavy sleeper! 😬」
