「About one hour to Odda and two hours to Folgefonni National Park for blue ice hiking. There are five to seven beds in each room. So it's suitable for a big family but a little bit expensive for one or two persons per room. Outside view is beautiful.」

「Cozy cabin, shared bathroom in the main building but knew that going in. Good location next to a park on a lake surrounded by beautiful scenery. Shared spaces were very clean. Room was small but clean and comfortable. 」

「Driving into Hjelle through the lakeside tunnel was magical. This repurposed schoolhouse was a fantastic place to experience old-world Norwegian living. Loved the nook beds and touches of history. The modern bath and kitchen were integrated well. The property manager was kind and helpful - he let us know when the early snowfall unexpectedly closed down the mountain pass. Was a great site to just relax and enjoy!」

「We enjoyed this as our final stay in Norway after 2 weeks. It was idyllic, scenic, and we loved the hens and chicks free ranging on the property! So cute.
The only confusion was that there isn't any signage directing you where to go when you arrive. We accidentally went to the door of their main home that is pictured in the Expedia listing, instead of the home that is the rental described. I had to message them when we arrived for clarification.
Other than that, the stay was very relaxing....

「My family stayed 1 night at Alnes Gard during our trip to Norway. We stayed here as a base to see Alesund and so glad we did! This place is a lovely little gem and we had fun exploring the small island. We saw lovely rainbows, experienced a beautiful ocean sunset, and went on a great hike! Would highly recommend this place! 」

「I wish I had known that our room was on the 5th floor, attic apartment with a sloped roof. I'm tall and could only stand upright in the center of the room. I also wish I had paid attention that there was no elevator. The whole building has been beautifully renovated, but the apartment on the top floor does not look like the photos, because of the sloped roof. I appreciated the washer and dryer though. And the location near the ferry and the historic part of town was convenient. 」

「Clean cabin however the WiFi did not work in the cabin. You have to purchase both the bed sheets and the towels in a bundle and cannot purchase just one. This was not clearly written in the description. Also you had to buy a token to take a 5 min shower which I was not aware of based on the description. 」

"pros:
nice view over the harbour. good and abundant breakfast.
cons:
room's small, a bit awkward by the standard of a deluxe size. well maintained but still old and lacks noise-cancelling. "
"In summary one of the poorest hotel quality I can get for the last 10 years. We booked the deluxe twin bed room for 3 nights in Bergen. Whilst it says deluxe it’s actually two tiny beds which is surely not a standard single bed. We picked the hotel due to its location but actually there are plenty of better choices.
First of all we took over 20 hours to get to Bergen and desperate for a good rest. We were woke up by heavy rock music at 2am in the morning. Then the music lasted till around 4 am and then we can only sleep after this. The hotel staff said this is nothing they can do for the music from the night clubs !
Then we went out on the following morning and came back to the hotel at around 4pm as we were also tired due to jet leg. So surprised when we opened the door that the room has not been cleaned at 4pm!
Then the room is strange that sometimes there is no electricity for certain lights and the ventilation. We asked the hotel staff if this is part of the environmental friendly policies. The answer is no and he can’t figure out why this is the case.
Bergan is a very pretty place and have lots to see. My advice is not to stay in this hotel if you want to have a peaceful and comfortable trip. "
"the location is good, walking distance to most of the sight seeing area. The room is small and not very clean. Dont go to the sea food market, it is for tourist , they charge us over price for the crab. "
