The location of this hotel is really hard for us to find. Fès Médina is the most difficult Médina in Morocco. We are lost in the Médina at mid night with large luggage. When we call the number of the hotel the man who answer the phone ask us to settle this problem by ourselves impolitely. But when ...

The Medina of Fes El Bali is the biggest Medina in Morocco and it´s full of life! Madrasas, fondouks, palaces, residences, mosques and fountains are everywhere! An iconic sight for sure, the tanneries of Fes was absolutely interesting to take in. As well as the smell, which wasn't as bad as I anticipated - and they gave us a bundle of mint to smell if it got too bad. :) Here you can see all the different colors of leather dyed...and dried...and here you will find the biggest selections and best prices for leather products at the surrounding leather shops that have a veranda to see the men at work below. Yes, yes I did acquire a bag while I was there - and it has Berber carpet on it too - double score! :)
