"Very friendly reception from the landlord Gareth who provided a most enlivening atmosphere in the Duke of Wellington ie a darts match for the men and Easter wreath making for the ladies. No food unfortunately but we found an excellent Italian restaurant in nearby Northallerton. The courtyard room was clean and comfortable, marred only by a very awkward shower - not easy to enter, due to lack of space."

"We really enjoyed our stay here, the property was well equipped with everything you needed for a comfortable stay. I do think the property does need updating a little and it would have been nice if the hot tub had been filled on arrival, the hot tub also needs a cover as unless you like cold feb rain wouldn’t have been enjoyable. "Wonderful stay, definitely recommend this hidden gem. The room was spotlessly clean. The jacuzzi bath was huge plenty of room for 2, truly relaxing. The shower was perfect. Our room had an outdoor seating area which was perfect to sit out with wine and nibbles. An ice machine was available so you could fill your own ice bucket, there was a wine chiller in the room which was useful. Everything in this place was brilliant making for a peaceful, laid back luxury break."
