Last time in this hotel (Elmira has very limited options) they put us on the first floor in a room full of mould patches all over the carpet. We were moved to another room, also in the first floor, and still with serious humidity issues.
So this time we insisted on a second-floor room. After a long wait, they did not give us a room until around 6pm. The beds were so poorly made and the linen so wrinkled that looked used. Not a single towel. After multiple calls and hard to believe stories ("we don't have any clean"; "we're washing them right now"; "they're not dry yet"), we got our towels at almost 10 pm. For sure the slowest laundry equipment in the whole world.
The following day, a Monday, we called to find out until what hour they were serving breakfast and they told us 10 am. We went downstairs around 9:00 and the restaurant had a closed sign as in out of business (for the day or forever was unclear) with nothing offered for breakfast. Most likely that was a blessing in disguise...
The hotel looked like a ghost place in a state of semi-abandonment. We went back to the room to pack and a few minutes later someone knocked on the door wanting to know when we were vacating the room.
We should be refunded the money we paid for such a crappy place and experience.
