Nice neighbourhood, lovely people
Belford was my first night in Edinburgh and it was super chill. An easy walk from Haymarket station, the 24/7 check-in was really nice. I had a lovely private room (only 4 of those, so book early!) and the staff were super friendly and kind. It was a chill, well-stocked place right besides Dean Village and not far from West End and their nice bars and cafes.
Didn’t spend too much time at the hostel. We needed a place to stay as our flight had been cancelled, it was a lovely experience and would more then likely stay there in the future.
A great historical property which is not too far from the main roads.
A converted church, so voices tend to carry.
Great for solo travellers because you can get a room for one person.
Bathrooms have all amenities, but could use a larger floor mat outside of shower, floors were a little slippery.
Inside main quarters, beautiful stained glass and ceiling features.
Front desk was very helpful.
The staff was unprofessional and some where rude. The place was dirty and smelled. They charged for breakfast which consisted of cereal and toast

Ok…ish. I had to climb on bed and onto window sill to reach to close wide open window, and curtains hard to open and close, didn’t see a hairdryer but fortunately only 1 night stay. Bathroom quite alright, large, good, easy, shower, and near to our room.
Very noisy, youngsters singing late evening.
Reasonable for what it was, but might not go again!

Man muss wissen was man sucht und was man eben bucht.
