「We were a group of 8 men visiting on a golfing trip. It wax agreed that the quality of beer especially the Guinness was undrinkable. My drink also had to be returned I had also asked for 4 twin rooms but there was only 3 given and the other wad a double. Additionally there was only one bath towel in 2 of the rooms and no toilet brushes」

「The property is situated near North Berwick and has beautiful gardens. The building itself is a bit tired. Our room was disappointing for the grade of hotel. Coffee facilities were basis (one packet of two pieces of shortbread to share!). The cooked breakfast was lovely but the continental selection was very poor compared to similar hotels and given that one of the main selling points of the hotel is the Chez Roux restaurant. Cleanliness not what we would have expected either - some litter...

「This was a stop over on the way to a holiday further north in Scotland. The bed was comfortable and the staff friendly. The rooms and bathrooms are a little tired but perfectly functional. One of our rooms was to the front of the hotel opposite the local supermarket and cash point (the cashpoint is regularly used and weirdly noisy) - the supermarket opens early - if you are a light sleeper the noise will wake you up. Interestingly we booked 2 rooms at the same price and they differed...

「The room was lovely and a spacious. The restaurant was not avaiable which was disappointing. The lady who was at reception in the morning Sept 2nd was very rude.」

「A top traveller’s rest inn. Located in a quaint quiet village with some nice walks and scenery. Had a clean and spacious room with everything we needed for an overnight stay. Food and atmosphere in the adjoining pub was excellent as were all the staff there.」

「Though an old building, it is very well maintained. Very clean and the host (Alice) very friendly and helpful. it is beautifully placed and our room overlooked the Musselburgh Racecourse/ golfing green. Breakfast (though continental) was very nice and you were able to choose what you wanted and at what time and this was brought up to your room in a lovely basket. Our whole stay there was lovely and would definitely stay there again :)」
