This is the only hotel I stay in when visiting Dunkirk. The property is old, but kept clean and maintained well. The rooms are large and views of Lake Erie are a nice amenity. There are no microwaves or refrigerators in the rooms which is not on par with other hotels in the area. For me this is the major downside. I do like the staff who are always very kind and helpful.

Heat didn’t work in room. Just blew air but didn’t warm up. Beautiful view of the lake. Nice free breakfast. Restaurant was decent, good wings and flatbreads.

The Breakfast was very good and the Attendant was a very friendly and happy woman who always helped start the day off in a good way. The Curtains need to be replaced and the mini fridge in the room was removed and the ice maker was broken. The Bar closed early, wish it was open at least 1 hour longer. The Bed was very comfortable and pillows were very comfortable. Towels very soft and smelled good. Was disappointed the local Hockey Broadcast was not on the tv. Rooms need a little general maintenance like fixing the peeling wall paper. Maybe a USB outlet or 2 would be nice.

The location and the view were excellent. The hotel needs a lot of repair. Our room: the floor was damp, the bathroom mirror had weird burn like streaking, there was rust in the bathtub, the water pressure was excellent, the walls in the room had had paint touch-ups that did not match the rest of the paint. We were barely able to see out of the window because the seal on the window had broken and it was fogged over. The beds were firm but okay. Restaurant: the breakfast was what every other free breakfast was. Make your own waffles, fruit, eggs, sausage, yogurt, etc,,,, It was hit or miss if the restaurant was open for dinner. Hotel: We used a side door to get in and out based on where our room was. It smelled like mushrooms. Like if we were growing mushrooms. Very musty. Wallpaper was torn in the hallways, rugs were literally taped to the floor. I am sure to prevent tripping but there should be a better way. They were installing a new elevator while we were there so hopefully it means they are working on things. The view was excellent though.

Cockroaches in room, mold on edges of the wallpaper and shower, not many outlets to plug in phones. Very disappointing especially for the Clarion brand!

The hotel as a whole needs updating. The front desk person when we checked in wasn’t very clear of instructions(didn’t tell us floor) they also didn’t want car info or check my id(which makes me nervous that anyone can use your name and check in). There was carpets taped down to the floor, there was chunks of dried mud in the hall. Our room was ok but the bathroom needed a nice deep clean, especially the tub/shower. Overall it was an ok experience but I would not stay there again unless it has been updated.
