Here's another pick for those who do the Seattle-Whistler commute. Terrific, spartan, family owned Chinese restaurant in the Westiew mall. My favorites: Salt & Pepper Crispy Tofu

Avoid rush hours, the single bridge access to vancouver city makes it a slow go.

It is not as crowded as downtown Vancouver and easier to maneuver/drive in. Pleasant shops, etc.

Whale watching was fun. Saw a pod of 4 killer whales, one hunting a porpoise - successfully. Then another pod of 3. They guarantee sightings - and deliver.
