"A lovely quiet place perfect for a night away. Clean and comfortable. Great host, always there to help out. Just be aware that the hot tub is a paid extra, something that is not mentioned but that is not the hosts fault. They are unsure why that information is missing from the listing. Hotels.com were useless at trying to sort that out. But don't hesitate to book this place, just maybe drop them a message about using the hot tub first. "This was my first time staying at a Holiday Inn Express. We’ve usually been “brand loyal” to a certain purple‑themed chain, but I have to say I was genuinely impressed. The staff were helpful, knowledgeable, and nothing seemed too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent and really enjoyable. We also had an evening meal in the hotel restaurant on Friday. While the food was nice and tasty, I did feel the price was a little high — just over £65 for the three of us, and our 17‑year‑old eats very little. Even the server double‑checked the total twice, which made me think it wasn’t just me. I appreciate that prices are what they are these days, but it did stand out. Room and beds were extremely comfortable, Ability to turn off and control the temperature of the aircon was appreciated. Unlike some other Hotel chains that fact that there was actually plug sockets next to each side of the bed was really appreciated. I agree with a previous review the parking spaces are ridiculously small, even the disabled bays outside the hotel are stupidly tiny, there are some larger ones in the "overflow" area. Remember to check your registration number in at the check in desk though."

"Booked a junior suite for one night. Stunning room, could possibly do with a little tlc in the DIY department but absolutely spotlessly clean. Tea and coffee facilities were spot on but could possibly find a bigger fridge not located right next to the bed much more useful than what was provided. The Bentley tour to start our stay was absolutely fantastic and Jim made us feel very welcome and had a great knowledge of the city. Would absolutely stay again, its a lovely hotel and a great location."

"Everything was excellent apart from one issue: payment at check-in. I had my card saved on Google Pay, so when it came to paying for my room, I expected there to be a card reader available. In my experience, 9 times out of 10 hotels have a card machine available for this, and this hotel did have card readers in the bar and restaurant. Unfortunately, the member of staff dealing with my check-in made it very clear that my situation was an inconvenience to her. Rather than offering the option of using a card reader, she made a rather snide comment along the lines of, “How am I supposed to take your payment?” She appeared to expect me to physically provide my card so that she could manually enter the card details into her computer. What made this more frustrating was that on a previous occasion, when staying at the hotel with a colleague, the hotel had simply sent my colleague a payment link, which was a quick and straightforward way of resolving the issue. I appreciate that there may be procedures around taking payment, but the way this was handled was unnecessary and left me feeling uncomfortable. There were clearly other options available, whether using a card reader or simply sending a payment link as had been done previously. It’s a shame, as everything else about the hotel was very good. This interaction unfortunately put a dampener on an otherwise positive experience."
