"What a great place! Nicely furnished, clean & comfortable. The owner is FANTASTIC & she makes a yummy breakfast every morning. Everything that you need is nearby, restaurants, bars, live music, shopping. The beach is directly across the street. "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Waterland. It is convenient for the airport but in a quiet spot, situated by the river. It is beautiful. We had a great private villa with a good size pool. "We booked this hotel for our last night in Sri Lanka and it was by far the most rundown hotel we have stayed in. We booked the most expensive ($260 per night) room that they offered “ beach villa”. The room was in poor condition and looked nothing like a villa. Tv didn’t work and bed sheets were old and room was not clean. Ac blows directly on the bed so you can choose to either be freezing or be super hot. The hotel is on the beach but far from easy access to anything near by. Dinning options...

"AWESOME stay - so great we decided to stay an extra night. Kasun is amazing and put us in touch with people that helped us plan our 3 week stay in Sri Lnaka. Extremely spacious apartment for a low price. Even included a washer inside the apartment which was really nice to do laundry. Close to the airport and not a far walk from restaurants. Nice park neaby with volleyball courts, track and more sports with locals nearby. Will definitely stay again before departing from Sri Lanka! "

"Very huge room for very little price Hotel manager , Woody was available all time and gave good advice..many good places R&R for coffees or ice creams. "Arrived late after a long day flying. Check in was as swift as it could be and we were soon in our room. Clean and cool with comfy beds, toiletries available, water, etc. what more could you need for a stay between flights? Breakfast was delicious, plenty to choose from. But oddly tea was not readily available though they brewed a pot when I asked. The staff are all so lovely and extremely helpful and friendly. Laying by the pool is bliss (still here!) and they’ve given us a complimentary late checkout as our flight isn’t until this evening. Only downside is that no-one was there to meet us at the airport as promised. Our original flight was cancelled, I messaged the hotel with new flight details which was about 3 hrs later than the original, but never got a response so I assume it was not read. It meant after a long day of traveling we had to figure out how to get someone to come get us which frustratingly added another 40 minutes to our already long day. But overall would highly recommend this airport hotel. "
