Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub are wonderful. Our room was spacious and attractive, and the property is quiet and peaceful. One suggestion would be to add a second chair and maybe an end table in the TV viewing area in our room because there is a nice amount of space for two people to sit. The location is within easy drives to Joshua Tree National Park and Palm Springs. We stayed four nights and enjoyed out time at Onsen Hotel very much. We did not use any of the spa services, so I can't comment on those.

Hot tub and pool were great. In very quite location. Staff was great. There was some mixed up and our room was not ready when we arrived but they got it ready quickly. Breakfast starts late but have enough options.

This hotel has gone down in customer service since a year ago when we visited. The pool deck was not kept clear of towels and plates which sat overnight and we saw again this morning. They should update the website to inform guests that breakfast is not until 8:30 which is extremely late and since all guests are basically waiting to get in at 8;30 coffee and food runs out real quick. It was just a cluster if you knmow what I mean

The room was simple, clean and pretty. The staff took the time to walk us to our room in the dark when we arrived, such a small gesture but so helpful. The breakfast in the morning was nice with a free continental breakfast and options to order and pay for an acaii bowl, wine, etc. The jacuzzi and heated pool were 10/10, I enjoyed going between the two different temperatures. We would stay here again!

Always willing to give desert hot springs a chance because it’s close to Joshua Tree and pioneertown- and who can afford $415 a night in pioneertown? The Onsen was alright, rough area. Not sure if there is a “nice” area around- apologize in advance if there is. You can tell an upgrade had been done in the last decade? Maybe, so the upgrade is now a little fading. Did not like the bed mattress, really liked the showerhead, it had a nice mist function and great water pressure. The bath products were actually solid. Visited the pool early, about 745am and had it to myself. The remnants of the Saturday evening before were still visible. Towels strewn around, robes, even door keys were left out. However even with what must have been a party, we didn’t hear noise in our room. We made sure to go back with cash after checkout and tip the housekeeper- we are sure she had her work cut out for her.

First room smelled like smoke and the door didn’t close properly and wouldn’t lock. They moved us to a different room which was much better. Then the unreal happened, NO HOT WATER!! 2 days we couldn’t take a shower and the front desk apologized and said there was nothing they could do. Offered us a 20% discount off 1 day. Never actually gave us the refund even though they stated they would. 2 things you should get when staying at a hotel a safe place to sleep and a place to clean such as a shower. I called a few days after our stay to get a refund and they still haven’t responded back. It’s been 10 days.

Stayed 9 days and sheets were never changed. Cleaning rooms daily was not their priority. Continental breakfast was only half way decent with other patrons even though we were charged for the same experience room smelled like dog.
