I stayed at the Crawford Hotel for 3 nights in June, it was not a good experience. I paid for an upgraded room and was allocated a room about 3ft from the entrance and host stand of the Cooper’s Lounge, the hotel’s marquee cocktail bar. Besides the obvious noise issues late into the night, there was a complete lack of privacy and security as an entire bar watched me, a solo female traveler, enter and exit my hotel room every day. There is a general lack of security for that wing of the hotel, you can simply take a flight of open stairs directly across from the amtrak ticket office to access all of the rooms along the open atrium. No security gates, not even ropes, to stop you. Keep in mind, the Crawford is located inside an active, working metro/train station in an urban center with a lot of coming and going throughout the day. I asked to change my room immediately upon seeing its location and was told the hotel was fully booked that night. I checked again the next morning, while many guests were checking out, and was told again they were fully booked and had no room to switch me into. Attaching some photos as it really helps paint the picture.
