In the face of the COVID-19 outbreak, traveling now comes with a few extra challenges. Cast your eye over these worthwhile tips before hopping on your flight to Dead Sea:

• Know the restrictions and rules in both your origin and destination. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so be sure to check government advisories before booking.
• When you go through airport screening, keep your face mask on. You will be required to briefly lower it for ID purposes. Anyone refusing to wear a mask may face civil penalties and may also be denied boarding.
• You're no longer required to hand your boarding pass (paper or electronic) directly to a TSA employee. Rather, place your pass on the reader and then hold it up for inspection.
• TSA is now permitting passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on bags. This will need to be removed from your bag at the X-ray machine for scanning.
• Put any personal items (phone, keys and wallet) in your carry-on rather than a bin to reduce handling during screening.
• If you're planning to take food through the security checkpoint, put it in a clear plastic bag and then into a scanning bin. This reduces the likelihood that a TSA employee will need to handle your carry-on bag or food container for closer inspection.
