Very cool gem! The pictures do not do justice. Ocean at your doorstep, thoughtful chique design, and extremely personable and friendly reception. We highly recommend. Plus, great dining and nightlife options within walking distance.

Poorly Run and Way Over-Priced When we arrived, the vertical blinds on the sliding glass door were broken. The owner admitted they knew but said their handyman was busy, and they were never fixed during our three-night stay. On the second night, all guests were awakened at 3:30 a.m. by police pounding on doors due to the lack of an emergency contact number on the office door. A housekeeper also threw away my dental mouth guard, mistaking it for a drink, and despite searching the trash, it was never recovered. The owner promised to discuss compensation but never followed up. During our stay, fire alarms went off in every room when another guest burned food, and we had to hang towels over the broken blinds for privacy. Although advertised as a “boutique” hotel, it felt poorly managed and not worth the cost.

This place is a hidden gem. It’s a tiny, one story, 5-room beachfront motel probably built in the 1950’s. Old school! But the rooms are nicely renovated, staff super friendly and helpful, check-in and out very laid-back and easy. It is right in the beating heart of NSB, a block from Flagler and all the shops and restaurants, right on the ocean. We loved it, and we’ll be back!

I really enjoyed stepping out of my room and walk right to the beach. I enjoyed that I never moved my car the whole time I was there because everything was within walking distance. I really enjoyed having a good AC, beach chairs available, beach towels available, and bikes to rent. What I didn't enjoy is there is not an ice machine at this location. You need to stop by a convenience store and by ice.

AMAZING

It was amazing! My family and I went, I have 2 toddler twins and we loved it. Quiet and right on the beach. Staff was amazing I wish every experience was like this! We will definitely be making this a yearly place to come.

I'd like to start this review by saying I was super excited to try this hotel. The small feel, cute pics of the rooms, the closeness to restaurants and that it was right by the beach seemed perfect for us. I thought we would get exceptional service as well. Our checkin time on our reservation was 2pm. We got there early and figured we check to see if the room was ready and if not, then get lunch then maybe hit the beach. When we arrived we were told our room was next to be cleaned so off we went to lunch at the place next door. Came back an hour later and it wasn't ready yet so we found a spot in front of our room to chill until it was. We found that the other guests had taken over most of the space outdoors and no spots were left by the beach even though no one was in those areas - they blocked it so no one else could use them. 2 hours later and the room was not ready. 15 minutes after 2pm I went back up to the front desk to ask if there was a problem with the room and the snarky front desk person (not the original one that checked us in) said well check in was anytime between 1-3 so they had til 3. My response - expedia said check in was 2pm so she went to check on the room. Now mind you, we were infront of our room and knew housekeeping had been in the room for an hour and half at that point. The room was cute but that front desk agent with attitude really started our stay off poorly and has no customer service skills. For the price we paid for the room I expected more.

I really enjoyed staying at The Salty Mermaid. It is an absolutely beautiful location! It is a small hotel and doesn't seem fancy from the exterior, but it was clean and nice inside! It was probably one of the best locations you can get, as you walk right out on the beach, you have chairs and umbrellas provided, and you can walk to the shops and restaurants! I will definitely be going back!

Did not know bar next door, was loud music. Didn't have screen on sliding door. Missed Easter service on beach, sadly. No one in office after 5pm. Did like bike access.
