Fantastic location that's walking distance to the refuge! the room was very clean and the owners were very helpful and gracious. The room itself was basic and maybe a little weary, but the location, secure parking, and kindness of the owners made it great. If I were to visit again, I'd stay if their treehouse for the charm and amenities.

The best place to explore the region. A great host with lots of tips about beaches and activities. You can go walking (200m) to the place of arribadas!

The hosts, Louis and Veronica, were very welcoming. The room was very nice, and we were within walking distance of some restaurants that we liked quite a bit. The property was very close to the turtle reserve. Would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Luis&Veronica are very friendly and accommodating. They have been very helpful by taking us to buy food, also dropping us off to various places to hike,and to go to nearby beaches etc. I would highly recommend this place to everyone interested in this area around Ostional,Costa Rica.

Tree house adventure

Amazing tree house with monkeys in the trees. Very close to the beach to see the turtles. Recommend and will go back.

Had a fantastic experience and enjoyed the tree house room which was clean, spacious, and provided a nice view of the surrounding area.. The managers Luis and Vero couldnt be nicer and more pleasant. The local dining and bar establishments were walkable and had good food and drink . Wish i could've sfayed longer

Luis and Veronica have a very special place, and they are the nicest and most attentive hosts. They welcomed us warmly and told us about the local beaches and recommended local turtle guides, so we got to see some of the Olive Ridleys lay eggs! They even helped us with our special needs (laundry and when a flat tire)! The family tree house is such a unique structure, we loved staying in it. We saw many interesting animals right outside of our door from the porch. The rooms are super clean and very comfortable, and they get cleaned every day while you are there. You can walk to the Ostional Refuge easily in just a few minutes. One thing to know is that this is not really a swimming beach. It's nice to walk on, but the waves are large and if you get lucky and there is an arribada, then I heard they close the beach to protect the turtles. If you have a car then there are many gorgeous beaches within about a 20 minute drive. There are a couple of simple restaurants and an ice cream place within a few minutes walk, and a mini supermarket about 10 minutes drive away. The road leading to the lodge is unpaved and pretty bumpy, but not steep so we didn't actually need to use our 4-wheel drive during our time there. So, if you want to be somewhere quiet and authentic, with super nice people, then definitely go here!

We stayed at the tree house. The room was spotless with a kitchen that we utilized during out stay. The balcony facing the mangrove was a great place to sit and listen to the ocean waves and watch for animals. We saw howler monkey, mangrove crab, squirrels, black vulture, hummingbird....etc at the tree house. We enjoyed our 2 night stay here. Thank you!

The property is walking distance from the main turtle nesting beach which was our main focus. The rooms are simple but adequate, a clothes hanging rack or clothes drying line would be a great (and cheap) improvement. There is very little in the area (1 provision shop & a couple of eating joints) and a Tuk Tuk ride to the closest “town” is USD $20 one way. Our first time in Costa Rica and the cost of transportation and food have taken our breath away. Made us much more grateful for where we live 😆

The property was nice, but the surrounding area seemed sketchy. A notification board outlined beach rules, including nighttime beach access, except during arribadas (mass turtle nesting events) when a fee is required for turtle searching. The board prohibited white lights on the beach, yet we observed people using them in run-down shacks, raising concerns. Many restaurants were closed, possibly due to the holidays. Renting an SUV, Jeep, or truck is advisable for navigating washed-out roads in the area.

Great hotel with great hosts

The hosts were very welcoming and gave great recommendations on what beaches and restaurants to go to in the area. The beds were comfortable, the AC was good and the rooms were immaculate.
