"This property is such a gem. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay amazing. We could have spent more time just exploring the grounds, they have so many cool things to see! They showed us a sloth and baby that live close by the reception area. The gift shop sources locally made goods, which was a really special. "The staff really make this place, including Luiz at the lovely on-site restaurant. The location is nice and quiet, about 20 min walk to the bustle of town. And all the tours and activities offer transportation so we never needed a car. I know it’s only 3 star, but the rooms could use a few extras, like glasses, access to ice and/or a coffee machine. Thankfully we were allowed to keep a few things in the communal fridge behind reception. For the price, this was a great place to stay! "

"Casa del Río is a true gem in La Fortuna. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by nature — we saw birds and even monkeys during our stay. The rooms are spotless, spacious, and very comfortable, with lovely views that make you feel completely connected to the environment. The staff truly make the experience exceptional: warm, attentive, and always willing to help with recommendations, tours, and transportation. Breakfast was delicious and fresh every morning, and the restaurant is excellent for both lunch and dinner. The location is perfect — close enough to town and attractions, yet quiet and relaxing. If you’re looking for a boutique hotel with outstanding service, comfort, and a genuine Costa Rican feel, Casa del Río is the perfect choice. We can’t wait to return!"
