We have all seen Bill Murray in Groundhog Day but the ceremony of Phil's prognostication does not actually take place in town like the movie suggests but two miles east of town at the unusually named Gobblers Knob. The Movie was actually not even filmed in Punxsutawney but in Woodstock, Illinois. The Groundhog Day celebration has its in Celtic tradition. Room was nice and was very cool n comfortable on a hot July day but there was no pool that was advertised no breakfast given only coffee and the windows and all glass in lobby were very dirty

An update in the future?

The entire place needs an update. The carpet is beyond hope. It is very worn and the hallway smells. The towels were thread bare and dingy. The room was clean and the staff was friendly.

Normally, my wife and I only stay at expensive hotels. We are hotel snobs, but we tried to save money on this trip. We were suprised how clean the room was and how quiet it was in the hotel. We loved our experience and only paid $8 total for our room one night. We would stay there again!

I had a wonderful stay here. Staff was very friendly at front desk. The Mexican restaurant was extremely good and decorated cute. The rooms were a little dated but no major issues. Mine even had a mini fridge and microwave. Would visit here again.
