We apologize that Expedia restricts the type of direct communication with guests that you were expecting. We are only allowed to send Expedia Approved messages within the Expedia Partner Central system. We can reply to reviews, but they will black out our direct phone number, email address and website if we try to link you to the additional information we would love to communicate to guests who book using a 3rd party. We are very sorry that the bridge on the highway 30 miles away from us was deemed unsafe for travel. It has been extremely hard on the residents in our community as well. Hopefully Expedia gave you your money back as we have no control over the funds they took. We have received no monetary compensation for your stay from them because they own your reservation. We hope you will try to stay with us at another time.

Absolutely amazing! Came for a family snowmobile trip and had an amazing time. Pretty much had the entire lodge booked. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly all the time! They definitely went above and beyond for our entire family. And also can’t beat the rooms- they’re unique and comfortable!

Beautiful resort off of a lovely dirt road. Excellent customer service and the restaurant was amazing!! I would eat there every day. The room was so cozy.

Quaint spot in the middle of nowhere down a 5 mile dirt road. The aspens were gorgeous on the drive. The room we stayed in was themed “moose” and was comfortable. The restaurant/bar had good food. The breakfast was unmanned but had good variety with frozen sandwiches that could be microwaved plus the usual cereal and bagels.

This place is very special and is in the mountains away from the busy towns. The place had a special vibe, and the staff put extra effort into making the stay extra comfortable.

A unique property that is a bit worn. Very out of the way, up a mountain! Restaurant was a nice convenience and food was good. No A/C, but it was cool when we were there. Not for everyone, but if you are looking for something different, this is a good choice. Also good for outdoor enthusiasts. Personally, we would not stay here again, but many would differ!

The setting is 7 miles off in the foothills but easily accessible. The rooms are cozy and well maintained. The beds are comfortable as is the bedding. The staff are extremely friendly and work hard at accommodating their guests needs They offer a wide variety of food options and our meals were very good. I had grilled salmon and my husband had tacos. They also have a good selection of beers on tap as well as bottled. If your looking for a quiet, cozy place to stay you won’t go wrong staying at the Arrowhead. There’s great hiking and fishing in the area as well as wildlife to observe

We loved the nostalgic feel of this gem with only 12 rooms. Very friendly community. Everyone was so nice. And it’s great that there is a bar/restaurant at the property because you are miles from any options. We’d love to visit the area again!

Highway construction is terrible just to get to the road you turn off of. Expedia doesn't tell you that until after you make non refundable reservations.

Mountaintop fun
A little tough to get to, but a lot of fun once you arrive. Really liked the workers and enjoyed the meal. There's basically no ice before 11:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m. but otherwise good.

We meandered a gorgeous roadway up to here, and were greeted by a magical experience into natural talent blended into the majestic aura we landed in. I'm in awe of this beautiful sturdy lodge provides.

Best place around.
Amazing stay! Very clean and they are very accomodating. Stay here instead of in Gunnison, only an easy dirt road to drive down and puts you in the middle of the mountain. Will stay again.

Our new Favorite Colorado Getaway
AML is our new favorite Colorado Getaway! Everything was perfect, from check in to check out. We ordered a couple of breakfast burritos, they were delicious. We ate dinner at the on site restaurant our first night, and was glad we split the meal (chicken fried steak), as the portions were huge. The second night we attended the Live Music the second night, and again, the food offerings were incredible. The only negative, which really wasn't a big deal, is that the rooms don't have AC. We look forward to our next stay, during a cooler time of the year. Thanks AML for a wonderful long weekend!

Made last minute reservation online from the road. The staff immediately recognized that an overbite highway closure in a mountain canyon would cause us problems. She called to tell us to ignore navigation and gave precise direction and timing to get there. Room is well stocked with coffee shampoo conditioner body wash. Quaint breakfast quirky nice and many coffee/tea options. We travel a great deal 50/60 hotel nights a year. This place is a hidden diamond. If we were in this area all of the time I would not tell a soul about it so we could always stay. Very nice stay nice people and breakfast

Stayed one night. Beautiful area very quiet. We ate at the lodge and food and drinks were great. Staff super friendly and very helpful. The room was very comfortable and bed was really comfortable.

The setting is gorgeous. The dirt road was in great shape. The hotel gave lots of helpful information prior to the visit. We loved the lodge atmosphere. We had a little trouble with key card entry but help got us back in fairly quickly (15-20 min.)

We really enjoyed our stay at AML. This rooms were very nice and the area around the lodge had stunning views. This is a very secluded area, quite and peaceful. We also drove some of the "backroads" to see more of the mountain views. Great little get away location. Food in the cafe was good also.

We love this place! Awesome place in the mountains. The restaurant is amazing, food and drinks sooooo good! We sat on the balcony at night and it was beautiful! It was a little loud early in the morning with a bulldozer working outside. We will definitely be back!! ❤️

Skye was very pleasant and went out of her way to welcome us even though we arrived after checkin had closed. She thought of everything and made us fell right at home. We loved the rustic charm coupled with the homey feel of the lodge. The rooms were very clean and the beds really comfortable. The Continental breakfast had a lot of options available. We had to leave early in the morning so we couldn't explore the area. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

Very good experience
We stopped at AML for one night as we were in the area in our travels from Minnesota and we love quiet places like this. This was such a good value for what we got. The room was lovely, comfortable bed, nice shower, good breakfast, excellent food from restaurant, quiet, friendly staff, very reasonable price.We appreciated the variety of breakfast items available very early in the morning so we could be on our way early. The only thing I can think of that was that there no air conditioning and I tend to get hot. But this is not a complaint. The mountain air cools down significantly at night. Even the drive up the gravel road to get there was gorgeous. I would stay again if in the area.
