Nice hotel with very friendly staff. Close and walking distance to many trendy areas of the city. Some noted wear and tear in the room, despite being a newer building.

We found the reception staff indifferent and rude when we first arrived late in the evening, although other staff on other days were friendly enough to say hi and bye as we walked through through reception. The room was musty and the bed damp when we arrived which seemed to have happened from the air con being on all day. I slept on my own sheets the first night as staff couldn't do anything about the bed as it fully booked that night. There is a large construction next door, so we woke to construction noise each morning. There was a large wall of windows, but no sheer curtain, so we couldn't even let the sunshine in as our room faced the opposite hotel, and one of the windows opened fully from floor to ceiling, on the second story (huge drop! Make sure you check this if you have kids) Breakfast is 400baht per person, but there's lots of cafes in the old city that are available. Location was heralded as good, close to the Thapae gate, but I found that there were more than ample other hotels in better locations in the old city. Overall, the hotel looked designed for instagram as it looked good online, but it lacked the soul I booked it for. Even the pool looked good, but there was no sun in the afternoon as it was tucked away into the hotel. Pity the hotel didn't have a nice vibe to suit Chang Mai as it could have added to our visit. Lucky the city itself is enough to make the experience great :)

Super clean and modern. Would definitely stay here again. So walkable to Night Bazaar, bars, restaurants. Only down side is the slightly dark street the hotel is on but we always felt safe. Good value for the money.

This hotel was great! The decor in the lobby was top notch. The upkeep on the property was really good as well. Looks very new and bedrooms were very spacious. The only downside was that the pool was pretty small and the gym was really not a gym except for some cardio equipment and one dumbbell set. Besides that I would highly recommend this place because it’s central to many night markets and old town.

We had an amazing stay at the deco. The room and hotel itself was beautiful and very clean. The complementary amenities were great and the daily breakfast buffet was delicious with a variety of options. The location is very convenient with plenty of restaurants and activities around as well as being walkable to so many of the temples. Overall it was wonderful!

My wife and I were very pleasantly surprised at how nice, clean, modern, and comfortable this place was. We have 0 complaints, and would definitely stay here again. The location is very quite and a 3-5 minute walk to the main streets. If you stay here, you won’t regret it.

I’ve stayed with Dr Chai in two of their hotels numerous times. Great breakfast, immaculate rooms, awesome amenities. I was disappointed at De Chai Deco that I pay for an outside membership allowing me one upgrade and some amenities like late check out. I was tentatively allowed one hour after checkout and zero mention of upgrades. It is Monday and there are minimal people here. This time I was placed in a room facing the loud street, no black out curtains as before so the sun was bright at 6am and a bad smell I cannot identify. There are odor remover in the room which I’ve not had on any room before. Not happy with this room compared to every other, but exhausted from work and didn’t ask to change it.

Modern gem near old town.
New build. Near old city wall. In a quaint and cozy Soi (alley). 2 minute walk to Thanone street. Lots of cool shops and easy transportation by “song theow - route taxi”. I would definitely stay there again.

Likes - location, breakfast, pillow, shower, interior design. Dislikes - Unfriendly senior male staff who serves at morning breakfast, he is always pulling a long face.
