Perfect for a quiet and relaxing stay. Beautiful lake views and easy access to the lake in the middle of the beautiful trees and nature. Short drive to town if you want to go out and enjoy the restaurants and town life. Would 100% go back, and recommend to MBH to friends and family

Excellent place to stay, clean and spacious room, staff very friendly but the most remarkable thing is that we left the safe box open with our valuables, passports and cash before they clean the room and everything was there, when we returned, nothing was missing 😀 and the place is amazing the lake 3 minutes away from our room.

Picturesque lagoon views

Great stay. Staff friendly, helpful & easily contactable via whatsapp. Breakfast from their hotel was delicious & was able to be served to our balcony. Room & balcony spacious with tranquil lagoon views. Kayaks, paddleboards & life jackets available to use - would recommend an early morning to do this at sunrise!

Incredible stay! Location was nice and secure with private access to the lagoon. The staff was extraordinarily nice and helpful. Check in was a breeze the girls at the front desk were very nice. Our room was spacious, the AC was perfect and our bed was probably the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

Loved loved this property… wished I’ve stayed 2 nights instead of one. It’s a 10 minute drive to downtown as MBH Maya Bacalar is in the middle of jungle but so nice to wake up to the scenery and the amazing lagoon. The kids enjoyed every second of our stay. We took advantage of the paddle boards kayak and of course swimming in this beautiful lagoon. Can’t wait to go back to this amazing place.

The hotel has no ammenities at all, a very small restaurant with no AC. We did not have hot water on the first day and had to call maintenance for the bathroom. They cleaned leaves with a VERY noisy machine daily distrupting all the peace. No pool, yes you have a beautiful lagoon but only 6 very uncomfortable beds. The hotel is very far from everythong so taxis are very expensive. Staffnis amazing though and food was great.

The view from our room was absolutely breathtaking! Cleanliness in the room needs improvement. Taking a shower the first day was a horrible experience. Drain was clogged and water completely flooded the bathroom. We used towels to prevent water from running into the bedroom. Issue was reported and not addressed until later in the day (staff is not available until 8:00am). No apologies were given.

Well, the staff are nice, but it doesn't make a difference in the rating. The hotel itself is run down. The room is pathetic, a really sad place to come back to after a day in the sun. And the bugs and bites on your feet and ankles, horrible. So we barely hung out at the hotel itself. The dock has a few wooden chairs that are so uncomfortable, there are literally 2 chairs that are made of fabric, all the others are wood and not a single cushion on site. So bring your own cushion. The bar by the dock is a joke, almost no alcohol and dirty. This place deserves 2 stars at best. It's misleading, the pictures of this place are fake, (I was catfished) not the actual resort in its current state. It's a bait and switch. But there are plenty of beach clubs nearby with nice chairs, umbrellas and good drinks. As for MBH, I would stay away at all costs.
