• A plane ride can be easy if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and a good book. What to wear on a flight:

• Comfort should be your main concern when deciding what to wear on your flight. Loose, breathable clothing is a wise option, as are enclosed shoes like sneakers.
• Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.

Being prepared before you arrive at the airport will make your getaway to Solitude easy and painless. Check out our useful tips for a swift journey past security:

• Your boarding pass and travel ID will need to be shown to airport security personnel. Keep them someplace accessible so you don't hold up the queue.
• Time to strip down. Well sort of. Your belt, coat, keys and other contents of your pockets, like your headphones, will need to go through the X-ray machine. Make the whole process faster by removing them as it gets closer to your turn.
