Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're prepared. Take a peek at these handy tips and tricks that will get your Murgon vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a pleasure if you pack the right things. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a clean pair of socks and a magazine or two. Secondly, make room in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any vital medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, remember to take your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and fuels, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Layer up in breathable clothing and don't forget to pack a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin. Always opt for flat, slightly roomy shoes as your feet may swell a little during the flight. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your checked luggage.
- A serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation. Doing leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this occurring. Wearing a pair of compression tights or socks can also help.
