If you're not prepared, airports and flying can be overwhelming. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks and enjoy a pain-free start to your time in Maiden Bradley. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack your passport, travel docs, credit cards and daily medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy novel and a laptop crammed with your favorite movies are good options. If you intend to take a short snooze, a quality neck pillow and some noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you hop off the plane looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp or pointed objects hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive substances, such as bleach and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to be as comfortable as possible. Pick shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and don't forget to bring a sweater in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and move your lower limbs often.
